We celebrated my 30th birthday in the private space upstairs - fantastic night, great vibe, amazing hospitality and service, great mix of standing and sitting and guests really enjoyed the novelty of pouring own drinks. Nibbles and food from chef Habib were great too!We picked Buddys as Newtown locals and having a few afternoon drinks there. The vibes are always high, service is great and the energy is electric when we walk past on the weekend. So happy this has opened in Newtown!Duncan and Jimmy were incredible and were very flexible on how we could make tweaks/customise for best experience.Thank you!

Fun concept and great range of beers and other drinks. Great opportunity to perfect your bar pour (though I stuffed this and the very helpful staff gave me a free top up). Food was next level! Had the chips and corn ribs with a range of dips and couldn’t stop eating. Best thing though was the chicken ribs. More like little chicken chops. Charred to perfection with a nice juicy nugget of meat attached to each. I’d come back just for these. Was tempted to order the nachos cause they looked incredible but there’s always next time.

This place offers a fantastic selection of beers, no doubt you will find something that suits your taste.One of the coolest things about this bar is that you get to pour your own beer. The staff will give you a card that you can use to access the taps, and then you're free to try as many different beers as you like. Best way to experiment with different styles and find new favorites.The staff and atmosphere are also top-notch. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable about beer and are always happy to offer recommendations and answer questions.Overall, if you're looking for a great place to grab a drink with friends or just try some new beers, this is your place.

Buddy's is good fun! The staff were great at explaining the system, chatting about the drink options (huge range, love the margs) and we really enjoyed the chilled live music. Expect us back soon!

Buddy’s has got to be one of my favourite venues to go to in Sydney.Don’t be fooled by anyone telling you there isn’t staff. The staff are friendly, attentive and Most certainly There !!The cocktails are super delicious. The whiskey cocktail is my favourite. Pair that with the scrumptious chicken ribs and garlic bread.These guys have outdone themselves on creating an epic venue that really offers an amazing experience.110% worth checking out if you haven’t already.

Cool concept but I hope this isn't the way of the future. The staff are incredibly polite and helpful! The venue itself is a little small.

very interesting concept to taste beer/cocktails/wine etc. Top up prepaid card in the reception, then you can follow the guide in the bar. very easy to use. There're a few types of glasses, ices, water. cozy vibes as well.

Novel concept done super well. Pay for your beer, pay what you pour. Simple concept, done well. Beers were reasonably priced, taplist had a couple of interesting drops that would be hard to get by. Super friendly service, come in looking lost and they'll help no problemo. Taps were well gassed and easy to use, however I do recommend making sure you know somewhat what you are doing when pouring, otherwise the value will decrease somewhat.

What an amazing idea, and great concept, Very helpful and amazing staff, with a good venue space and live entertainment on certain days is such a cool little spot .Will definitely be back and show my support to a great business idea and even better owners .Thanks guys
