We had to have our garage door replaced as the old one was damaged, so had our local garage door company replace it in Sep 2021. They recommended Steel-Line saying they install it all over the place and highly recommend it. The new door has been extremely creaky and noisy since it was installed, and matter of fact even more noisy than our old, damaged door.I had the installer come out 3 times to see what could be done, after which they said there was nothing more that they could do and got a service guy from Steel-Line to come out and have a look. The service guy from Steel-line came out in Jan, had a look and said there was nothing wrong with the install and that unfortunately, the model I had selected is known to be extremely noisy. So I told him that if this were the case and a known issue, they should either not be selling a defective product or at the very least let customers selecting that model know about the noise before they went ahead, and if they had informed me, I would have happily selected something else! He apologised and said someone from customer service would be in touch... That was the last I heard from them!I was so frustrated by then, that I couldn't be bothered following up with anyone anymore and have been living with the noise and frustration every time I open the garage. It finally got to me and I've done what I should have done in Jan - write this review.Left also left a review on product review earlier this month and received their standard marketing response very promptly asking for my contact details. As expected, I haven’t heard from them since.Appalling product quality and even worse communication / accountability - stay away!

Terrible customer service. Rude phone staff. Had 2 install dates where they just didn’t show up, they ran out of stock of the colour I chose the week before it was supposed to be installed (I chose colour over 12 months ago). They finally turned up to install and then said the electric box doesn’t work and I need to lift it manually (I am 37 weeks pregnant). Have called twice and they said they would call me back and they just never did. Really hard to deal with.

We had a Steel- line custom designed double garage door installed nearly 4 years ago. We had it serviced less than a year ago. On Friday 17 February 2023 it malfunctioned. The rod sheared of the bracket and dropped one side of the door to the ground. I was lucky it did not fall on my car which was now locked inside my garage. This was an emergency for me so I contacted the company both at their head office and in WA. I received a call on Saturday 18 February at about 9am, with a promise that someone would phone me back in 10 minutes. After a number of additional calls for help during the weekend my requests were left unanswered. I phoned the Steel-Line garage door service centre on Monday at 9am. I sent Susan another email and photos of the problem. I spoke to both Susan and the State Manager, Marcus and between them they refused to listen to my request to organise the release of my car. I am 77 and rely on this car for my daily needs. I was told that I should call an ambulance if I was sick or arrange for taxis while they thought about organising a visit by a service person when they could fit me in. The State Manager said he was busy with other requests. He said the garage door was old as it exceeded the one year warranty period. Susan couldn’t find the recent service invoice. Our garage door had a manufacturing defect in the ball bearing casing inserted in the bracket holding up the rod above the door. Part of the rod sheared off and the garage door was closed until we obtained help from the company. The total lack of customer focus or service provided by the State Manager is probably why so many other people have been complaining about this company. I have contacted their head office on their marketing email and so I don’t need them to apologise on behalf of their State Manager in WA. I did get the garage door opened by Davos their exceptional contractor who is very understanding and extremely helpful. He should be paid to train the office staff on how to communicate with customers. Steel-Line garage doors WA will sell you a product but when you need their urgent service or help you are treated without the respect and courtesy you would expect from the service staff paid by this company.Gabrielle

Firstly I was advised that the garage door will be installed by 21st August, but no one showed up or advised that its not ready. The garage measurements were taken over 2 months ago.I have been trying to get in touch with them to find out when my garage door will be installed but they just keep saying we’ll take your details and call you back, but no one calls back or replies to any emails. After many days I get a hold of someone today and was advised we cannot give you a installation date and no idea of when the garage door will be installed (full stop). Worst customer service to be honest. We are paying you for a service; not getting it for free so we expect some good customer service and some empathy for customers who are building.I have already emailed the marketing team; did the online chat but no reply from them too.Edit- as advised; I have forwarded the email again to the email address mentioned below for some response.

Door looks good, but the shambles to have it installed would make me never go with this company again. They tend to just rock up and start working at your place with no prior communication, if they show up at all on the date they book, so expect to see a random bloke or two wondering around your garage.

We have not received our garage door yet. Our job was booked in on 3 prior occasions. Our building supervisor keeps coming back to us saying the door company has a different reason every time. Our first date of installation was in July holidays. Since then we have had final walk through and the hand over.We are in our beautiful home without a garage door….Our next installation date has been scheduled for the end of this month (2 months past the original date). We can not use our garage, as we have been instructed by our supervisor to not occupy the front half, so that the installers have free access, but they just don’t show up…I know supplies are low everywhere, but surely there has been some sort of arrangements made by now to compensate for “COVID” delays.

We have just had our old timber garage door replaced with a new door from Steel-Line Garage Doors and couldn’t be more thrilled. Erik and his team provided fantastic, prompt service, making sure we were happy with our finished product, which had given our house a new lease on life. Very happy customers

Our Site Manager has been trying to arrange an installation with you guys for a Thornlie project for more than a MONTH! Always transferred our calls between departments and no one pick up the phone in the end until it cut off. No one reply email either. Is this company still running?Update: received a phone call right away after I leave this comment. Arranged for installation next week and lets see.
