The Cullen Melbourne - Art Series

We stayed three nights and it was a comfortable stay. The lady who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. Having stayed here just over 4yrs ago, we were excited to come back. It was a little sad to see the hotel starting to look a little tired. Certainly wouldn’t deter us staying again as it’s still really nice and in a perfect spot, but some money needs to be invested into freshening the rooms/furnishings up a bit. Even a good clean of the external windows would make a difference.

Disappointed. Stayed here whilst on a business trip in the local area. Although I appreciated the concept of modern art scattered around, found it to be dimly lit and dusty with suspiciously dark carpets and cheap furnishings. Also for the price, it was lacking in general amenities including open on-site catering to provide early breakfast or evening room service (not available when I was there). Average.

I had a studio room. Bad first: the bathroom is a 5 square metre postage stamp on the side of the room. It is separated from the rest of the room by a piece of frosted glass that doesn't do a good job of keeping lights, nudity, sounds or smells from the rest of the room. So don't share a room with someone you're not happy sharing those things with. I would've preferred less kitchenette and dining area and more bathroom space.I was also able to hear other loud guests through the front door in the corridor at odd hours of the night, but it wasn't too much of a concern. Not much can be done about both these things.The good: Overall, the hotel design is good. There is cool art around the hotel and in the rooms, and the feel of the hotel is pleasant. The staff are very friendly and helpful and do everything to help make your stay comfortable. The room was clean. The room comes appointed with Appelles shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and moisturiser. There are slippers, face towels, and I believe you can request bathrobes. The room has an iron, hair dryer, kettle, Nespresso machine, T2 tea bags, sink, fridge, cutlery, etc. The King sized bed was comfortable and the aircon is strong and consistent. Importantly, the curtains keep the room pitch black in the morning. The shower head is detachable/handheld and the water pressure is strong. The hotel is connected to a Chinese restaurant that does great dumplings, but room service is just a bit on the pricey side.It's convenient with Prahran Markets across the road, Coles and Woolies around the block, and a short stroll to nice cafes at Greville St.Overall, I'm happy with the stay and would stay again with knowledge of the above. I would give a 4.5/5 if I could.

Great location, exceptionally clean, big rooms, comfy bed & pillows and all at a reasonable price. Stay here for work trips even though its 30 mins+ to the office. Lots of great restaurants & bars within walking distance & all the staff are friendly & welcoming. Highly recommended & will be back again in a few weeks.

Lovely, funky, artsy, Hotel, beautifully appointed, right in the heart of Prahan. Great night sleep. Room was sparkling clean. Great water pressure in shower. Love the art in the room. Very helpful and kind front desk staff. Fabulous neighborhood. I was visiting Alfred Health, which is an eight minute walk away. So much to see and do right in the neighborhood. Across the road from Prahan Market. I rented a Lime bike and had a great ride on the Yarra River.

If you can get a room here, you should. They’re spacious, beautiful and thoughtfully designed.We stayed in a room with two queen beds and it has these marvelous curtains that separate the room and give you great privacy.There is great food around the corner and if you’re visiting the area, you should try every single coffee shop nearby. They truly are each unique and wonderful.The water pressure from the shower is great. The beds are comfy. The location is special. We had some trouble finding great pillows, but everyone is different.

The room was wonderful clean. Loved the shampoo’s, conditioner and body washes! The most beautiful thing was the customer service the beautiful lady serving us was extremely attentive and made our stay the best ever. She was delightful to deal with, a big smile on her face and the willingness to make our stay comfortable as possible. My husband and I were very impressed. Thank you we will be back for more stays! Highly recommended

Very modern and comfortable. The studios are spacious and quirky. It’s also located in a good pocket if you’re there for chapel street offerings. Trams are a stone away and so are prahran markets

We checked into the Cullen for a night last night . The room was extremely spacious and light however our bed squeaked and it felt as though the springs were going to break ! We are not very heavy people and it was an unpleasant sleeping experience. I told them at checkout with not much response unfortunately.. Pretty disappointing for the price of the room ..
