My family doctor advised us to go to YoungMinds and organised a referral for us to use the service. Both my children have seen psychologists here. My nine year old daughter is currently seeing Nancy Westerman and my son was seeing the psychologist Erica who is currently on maternity leave. The team at youngminds are a qualified and highly experienced group of psychologists and allied health clinicians who work as a team to help improve the psychosocial health needs of their clients. They focus on improving the well-being of clients and helping them gain a positive sense of self which helps to facilitate the ability to manage difficult life circumstances. They not only see children but see adults as well as families. The service does have some bulk billing psychologists. Their fee is affordable. The psychologists all specialise in different areas. Their website gives an overview of each psychologist. The overview lists each team member's qualifications and their area of expertise. My daughter loves seeing Nancy who although is older is wonderful with children. She gets down to their level and has helped my daughter immensely and is currently helping her address bullying issues, anxiety and depression.I would like to see more psychology services specialising in Autism and this is my only complaint about the service provided at YoungMinds. Minds and Hearts is better for children and adults on the spectrum however it is located at West End. There should be more services for Autism on the north side of Brisbane.I have recommended the service to friends and they too have been pleased with the service provided at YoungMinds.Hayley, one of the booking receptionists you are likely to speak with on the phone doesn't work at the Scarborough office; however she is one of the best receptionists I've ever had contact with in the medical service industry. She is immensely helpful, professional and is suchna sweetheart. Her beautiful soul radiates over the phone and she goes above and beyond her duties to assist client enquires and needs.

Would not recommend even to my worst enemy. For 'psychologists' they have absolutely no compassion and only Care about the money. Charged me $110 'late fee' because I didnt forsee my daughter catching gastro (6 year old who the appointment was for) and was told she would either have to come in (helloooo... Gastro....) Or have a phone appointment (again, my daughter was vomiting and had diaherreoa and they wanted to her to sit on the phone to a psychologist) I understand they then couldn't fill that spot (although I still called 2 hours in advance) but in this situation a small amount of compassion and understanding could have been shown instead they just harassed for the money. Will not be back and will not recommend to anyone.
