Dreadful, dreary and incredibly overpriced average Cafe food". This Spoon Deli really needs to head on out of James Street. It simply isn't on par with the surrounding quality cafe's and restaurants. I only popped in because it was the only place open (Why does everything in Brisbane close so damn early!?). Salad was wilted

Had lunch here a couple of days ago, both the food and service were pretty good.Today I got overcharged, had to practically argue about it, then my bugbear in a Cafe, getting my eggs sunnyside up first time, then basically rubber the second time, when I asked for over easy. Why offer eggs 'your way' when you don't know the difference?I refused the meal, asked for a refund, and got it eventually, with no reason apart from the manager saying it's her first day back? Whatever.

Went for my birthday lunch today. Ordered the eggs benedict. How you make eggs benedict entirely flavourless, I don’t know. Watery, cooked spinach and burnt toast as well. Yuck, yuck, yuck. As a local, I won’t be back.

We dined in on a Saturday morning so it was quite busy! When we ordered, they didn’t advise us of the 40min wait on the food or provide us with cutlery. When the server brought the food out, she didn’t offer to get cutlery for us despite there being nothing on our table. The food overall was not bad but the service could do with some improvement.

I am not sure why this place doesn't have better reviews! I have been here twice now and it never disappoints. It is surprisingly well priced (didn't have the James St inflation) costing us $64 for two mains, two juices and a coffee. The food was delicious and came out in good time. Juices were fantastic and coffee was strong. If I was a local it would definately be my go to.

BIG OPEN SPACE! Fits well with the James Street vibe. Acceptable price and taste, however it did take awhile for the food to come out.

Disorganised & poor service on this occasion. We wait half an hour for our coffee. Politely enquired the first time - order lost. Enquired a second time - coffees sitting on the counter while 3 wait-staff have a lovely chat amongst themselves. Great coffee when we finally got it.

Was okay....haven't been in years so we thought we'd try it again for breakfast. Hardly anyone in when we we there so plenty of staff. Food was mediocre, toast was burnt and soggy. Not much customer service, no clearing table even when not busy. They need to clean the sticky vinyl bench that the window opens out on, lots of crumbs/ looks uncleaned in a while.

Very good service and great food and very reasonable prices considering its location. The staff were accommodating and friendly. When I asked them to remake my coffee as it had way too much syrup in it, the request was received graciously, followed by an apology and then a replacement cup as soon as possible. Great seating with huge windows that let you warm up on those cold mornings. The selection of tarts, quiches, and other pre made meals is varied, tasty and well priced. A place to visit for sure.
