If I could give this pace 0 stars I would. Horrible service from rude staff, small portion below average not to mention overpriced meals! deposit policy is absurd! Definitely would not recommend, there are numerous places in Gawler with far better service and food. The staff at this place are absolutely appalling to say the least.

The Arms was packed today and the staff were just awesome. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a smile. Big pat on the back for the staff on the floor, they were just amazing, thank you all for a great afternoon.

I do not recommend this pub. I ordered a kids meal (with my partner's full size meal) and the waitress refused to let me have it (I only eat a little bit, I wasn't going to order a big meal - usually I explain to staff who take my order and it's never a problem), then charged me for a full price parmy and when they were pulled up on the mistake the waitress charged with delivering my refund called me deceitful; I told her I was twelve as a lame joke but she was extremely rude. They stuffed up multiple orders on our admittedly large table and tried to not let my sister in law place an order of chips (vegetarian) and just plain forgot about others. It was my partner's grandmother's 80th birthday and it was ruined.The chips where gross, honestly tasted like dust.

Food was nice, although slightly on the higher side price wise, Salad, veg and dessert bar was a great addition2x play areas for the little ones . Overall a great family friendly dining experience

Food was over cooked, overpriced & servings were tiny. 2 out of the 4 staff we had interactions with were rude. The “lady” staff member in the pokies was extremely rude to my sister & then proceeded to laugh about the interaction with another customer after my sister had walked out. Definitely don’t recommend going here

The staff where nice no problem with them but the wait I had for a plate of chips was over half an hour i was 5 to order on a large table and everyone else the large table got all meals before me and there was nothing nice to eat from salad bar . There was no fresh salad or even a selection of steamed vegetables just pumpkin. Very disappointed will not be back again .

We went here for my daughters birthday with a large group for lunch. When we were up ordering, my Aunt only wanted to order a side dish as she wasn't overally hungry, and she was given the third degree by the lady taking orders. The staff member was extremelly rude to her and bluntly advised that if that was all she was having, she was NOT to go near the salad bar. I understand there are probably a small number of dishonest people that just help themselves without paying for it, but this is not everyone and noone deserves to be spoken to the way this staff member spoke to her. We also had a few cancellations last minute due to illness, so this then meant that we lost our deposit we had to pay. There was no opportunity to explain why there was a few cancellations. It was the same rude staff member that told us we were not entitled to our deposit back because there was not enough Main Meals ordered from our group. Just be wary if you make a larger booking, you must pay a deposit, and then if not everyone orders a main meal, then you will lose your deposit. Everyone in our group was disgusted by the service and not 1 of them will be going back again! It is sad as we used to like going here, but definitely NO MORE!

Decided to go to Schnitzel Night on Tuesdays at Gawler Arms. Fantastic meal. Well worth it. Husband had Beef Schnitzel with gravy and I had Chicken Schnitzel with Hawaiian Topper. The disappointing part was the vegetables served, very poorly cooked or quality. BUT the size of the Schnitzel certainly made up for it and was perfection! Both types. Chips served was quite good too. We also ordered garlic bread which was perfect too. Thoroughly enjoyed the Schnit! Will definitely go again.

Kids chicken tenders (3) serve was huge with only a couple chips. My order of Hawaiian chicken was ok, but I got the wrong sides. Ordered chips and got roast potatoes. They completely forgot to bring the drinks. Saving grace was the kids playground.

The Gawler Arms Hotel
It is located in the main street of Gawler. The hotel as a modern feel to it. Good menu choices. Salad, veg, and dessert bar are available to have with your dinner. The hotel rooms have just been built, again modern looking, and have been done very well. The bed is very comfortable. The shower is large with good flowing water. It's definitely worth checking out if in the area.
