Melbourne Pathology Bundoora

Awful. Not even enough chairs for those prepared to wait for several hours to get a simple blood test. I will go back to my GP and ask for a referral to a professional pathologist. Avoid at all costs

I am 7 months pregnant and needed to get a glucose test requested by my obstetrician, who also informed me to make sure I call the pathology I plan on going to for the test as many places need to order in the drink that is required. In light of this information, I called Bundoora Melbourne Pathology and spoke to a woman who informed me that I would be able to come in the next day for the test as they have the drink readily available. As discussed, the next day I went to Bundoora Melbourne Pathology clinic to get the 2 hour test done, but was informed by an unapologetic staff member that they did not have the drink required to take the test. I then explained to her that the previous day I had called the clinic to ensure they did in fact have the drink and was told they did and it wouldn't be an issue for the test to be carried out. The staff member then replied very abruptly asking who I spoke to as she was the only one in the clinic yesterday. I then informed her I in fact spoke to her and she replied extremely rudely saying that I didn't speak to her as she did not answer any calls yesterday. I was astonished and shocked as I have been to the clinic many times before and am fully aware that this was the same staff member whom I had in fact spoken to on the phone the previous day. I told her this and she got very defensive insinuating I was lying as she continued to say that she was the only one working and she didn't recieve any calls. She then went on to say the phone was broken yesterday so it was impossible for me to have called in. I then informed her I had the proof on my phone. She then became even more defensive, was very rude and abrupt in her mannerisms and tone of voice and was blatantly lying to my face about not recieving my call the previous day. As a 7 month pregnant woman, who had been fasting for 12+ hours and had travelled in peek hour traffic to attend the clinic, it was very difficult and uncomfortable. I am astonised at the dishonesty and rudeness of the staff member. I have been to this clinic many times but will not return due to this horrificly negative experience.

Website and clinic hours state they are open at 8am on Saturdays, well I stayed until 8:10 am and neither the pathology or clinic were open.

Best experiences ever. The staff Irene was fantastic : )My parents don't really know English or Medical, She was very nice, professional and patient. I'm not going anywhere for the next many years.

Arrived today @11:45am. This facility closes at 12pm noon on saturdays. The door was locked for Melbourne pathology at 11:50am. This is ridiculous.I waited outside and the lady stated that she can not take any patients because there was a drug problem. Didn’t make any sense as she had a patient with her and a patient waiting. Don’t post that you close at 12 but lock your doors 10-15 mins before. Some people like myself work a 9-5 Mon-fri and only have time on a Saturday to get things done.

Arrived here Monday morning at 8.20am. Staff were not there, not even reception. Definitely won't be coming back to this Melbourne pathology branch!

I had best experience of blood test with the kind nurse, Helen (if I was not mistaken her name) . I had bad experiences with 2 other previous clinics, they were not successful taking my blood and frustrated because my blood vessels is thin and small. On the other hand, Helen is a sincere nurse that is also very experienced and skilled . Definitely come again here if i need to do blood test.

I would like to highly recommend this service, l was here with a very anxious and scared child who because of a bad first blood test at another Pathology centre was left practically traumatised. The lady who took my daughter's blood was gentle and reassuring and totally reversed her anxiety towards having a blood test. Thank you.

I came here with my son who has special needs, I was very worried and anxious it was not going to go so well as it was his first time getting a blood test. The beautiful pathology collector fadz was very gentle and understanding off my son's condition. She explained everything to him about the process and what each item was and it's purpose. I felt very comfortable with her and told me how to hold him to make it easier for my son and I. Thank you very much for the lovely experience.

Very quick, efficient and painless blood-taking! I felt comfortable and the collector took all the appropriate steps to make sure I was okay after I started feeling dizzy.Will be back!
