l got to see 6 whales today what a hoot ! 2 were mother and baby .... lots of breeches, take your binoculars .... but still just as great without. And if that weren't enough we saw Mother and baby on the way home from Straddie on the Ferry. What a major blessings.

The path leads from the road. It’s mainly sand and slightly uphill to the lookout. A better viewing area is the track further south which has numerous whale watching locations and much better views of the ocean.

There a two simple little wooden platforms to step up onto just a couple of hundred metres from the road. The path leads up from the corner of Timbin Road and Snapper street. Lovely view over Frenchman's Beach (note a lot of photos attached to this Google site are from the north gorge walk) and of course perfect to try and spot whales from (bring binoculars!)
