Did what they said they would do and fixes the problem

If you value your car and want your car back the other side if six months avoid Porters at all costs. After original quote of $8,000 for engine replacement and car still not going after engine put in, quoted another $1,000 for 'extra' work to get it going. After many phone calls car picked up and lo and behold car going. Very rude, and unhelpful service from woman in office and her husband. Avoid this business like the plague.

I made the mistake of taking my vehicle there before reading all the horrible reviews. I crossed my fingers and hoped I wouldn't be one of the disgruntled ones but lore and behold here I am. I was told it'll be $540 and was smacked with a bill for $748 just for one break replacement. No phone call, no explanation no care at all. NEVER GO THERE!

Norm was extremely lovely and helpful. Had my headlight globe replaced quickly and for a great price!

Quoted a fee for a service, only to pick it up and be charged $60 more. Quite rude and tried blowing me off. Would not recommend at all.

The staff were great and easy to speak to.I got multiple quotes and Porters were competitive for the work I needed done.Some trouble was had replacing the drive shaft boot, which extended the time to complete the job, but that resulted in no increase on the quoted cost.They were clearly quite busy, and my job was delayed once. That's the only negative in an otherwise positive experience.

There are really no words to describe how poor Porters is. You don't expect a vehicle to be driven in to a mechanic for a roadworthy certificate (and the vehicle has current roadworthy certificates in another jurisdiction) and for it to remain there for 14 weeks and need to be retrieved with a tow truck because it has effectively been broken and they don't know how to fix it. This was a 'service' that Porters felt was satisfactory to issue a bill for, that they required payment for to release the vehicle....on a tow truck that also had to be paid for. Simply appalling.A response to Ken and Shirley Porter to their response:Ken and Shirley, Thank you for your scripted response which is a pretty pointless platitude. One might think that an almost daily phone call for many, many weeks asking what was happening, asking what the plan was, offering the assistance of advice from other mechanics might constitute a discussion of concerns. Unfortunately your capacity to engage in meaningful conversation about concerns, or really anything, is lacking and that is part of the problem. After handing over your bill of over $2000.00 for the broken vehicle, you could not bring yourselves to apologise, empathise or say thank you for paying your bill. Your may hold yourself to a high standard but your grip is lost and you don't offer a high standard - your standard is unacceptable. We wont be contacting you to discuss, however, it is likely that you will be contacted.

Had a flat tyre in my work van, 130 kilometres away from home, in kyenton. Was already running late, had to ask for some help. After trying a few places, i called this place.The owner didn’t think twice to help me out and quickly swapped the spare one with the flat tyre for free of charge!Dear sir, you totally deserve five stars!
