Joy Remedial Massage

I don't want to leave a bad review, but i feel i need to.I suffer with bad lower back pain, after two pregnancies and caring for kids. I messaged her through Facebook and mentioned back pain and all that and booked a massage. First and last one. I will not be returning.First there was no medical history taken before massage (which should happen considering my pains, or people might have skin issues etc).Also it looks slightly cheap set up. Like a shipping container turned into a salon. I was asked to remove clothing and lay down. I tried my best. But i was fearful cause i know that when i lay down on my stomach for an hour i will have worse pain getting up. But my first time and i didn't dare to speak up (my bad). But laid down. She started with my head and neck. Which felt strange. At one point even tapping/whacking my head (which later that day gave me a headache). She then poured oil on my back i think, to which i flinched, because there was no communication that she's doing that and me head down on the table can't see anything. My back is very sensitive, so it flinched and tightened again. She said sorry, cold. (it wasn't cold). She did my back but not any of the areas i really needed. Which is what i was hoping to pay for. At one point she walked out, again, and did something with water. Came back and put wet towels on my back and wiped oil off. Without again communicating that this is what she's doing. Again me flinching, cause i couldn't see. (also me having anxiety doesn't help).She finished with my feet as well, wiped those as well. And then said thank you and left me to get dressed. I was stuck on that table for longer than i wanted. I barely reached my clothes. The table was not adjusted for me to get down. No help was offered to move or get up.I know this all sounds horrible, but my back is just very sensitive and this hour there made it worse. I will not be returning. And i hope that if you have health issues, please don't go there. I am sure she is a good massage therapist if you are all good and need relaxing massage, but if you need real help with chronic pain and other health issues, i wouldn't recommend.

I have been getting regular massage treatments from Joy for 2 years, maybe more? She's is professional and good at finding the right spots to work on. I would recommend Joy to anyone needing some muscular relief

Not very en'joy'able....I don't like leaving negative reviews but I don't like it when people claim to be qualified remedial massage therapists and do a dishonor to actual professionals out there.Joy spent the first 10 minutes of the massage vigorously squeezing a couple of vertebrae in my neck with one hand, while replying to a msg on her phone with the other (I could hear the touch-sensor in the keypad next to my head).She attacked a couple of tight areas in my shoulder like an annoyed spouse attempting to get a stain out of an article of their partner's clothing.It got worse when I had to lay on my back for the last 20 minutes of the massage and maintain a serene appearance while she lathered my feet in lotion and poked a bruise on my shin repeatedly.No information regarding allergies/previous medical history/injuries etc was requested prior to or during the 'session.'Joy seemed like a nice person but I definitely would not send anyone that I liked to her.

The worst remedial massage I have ever experienced. Asked for an hour and my legs and arms, top and bottom, were not even touched. Just my back, neck and feet and ridiculous fluffing on my head and a couple of feather strokes on my face. Clearly has no knowledge of the anatomy or deep tissue massage.I tried to forgive her and thought she may have misunderstood, given her poor English, and was giving me a relaxing massage but it was miles from that type of massage too. I was in a lot of pain and needed relief and left $50 less and still in pain. Never again!

Very incompetent. Does not have a very good touch and is not sensitive to your bodies needs. It does not feel like there has been much training involved in her technique. Working for minutes on a knot that is extremely painful left me bruised. I was sore for days and found no relief from visiting her. Spend more money and goes elsewhere. Also there was no disposable face towel over the head hole on the massage table. The massage table towel felt dirty and oily. Who doesn’t use a disposable face towel with Covid these days.

Lovely lovely lady but a nice back tickle even though i asked her to to harder.

I’ve been going to Joy for years ..... every time she relieves the chronic pain I suffer. I walk out with movement in my neck. Amazing every time. I will definitely go back.

I had a great experience with Joy. Before visiting her I had a lot of pain in my upper back and shoulders and she was able to provide me with some tremendous relief. I would recommend Joy to anybody.

I've had difficulties with my back and shoulders for a while now, and I've never ever had a massage that's left me feeling this good. Joy was amazing and I would wholeheartedly recommend her!

Have been trying to gain an appointment for over a month. Shocking service!
