Having to argue about what type of medication (eye drops or cream) is best for my child and what he will allow is to do is most annoying! Then being told from the tall, male, balding with glasses pharmacist that I need to tell my 2 year old to put up with it, while the pharmacist is trying to push the eye drops onto me.... I know cream works best and easiest for my child. As he has had it a few times before.I KNOW MY CHILD BEST. NOT YOU.I think you guys need to rethink how you approach customers. Especially with just an over the counter conjunctivitis cream....

I can highly recommend Blooms Chemist in Lithgow. I have used the pharmacy and also purchase supplies for my business regularly. Even though they are very busy, the staff are always very helpful, polite and prompt and let you know ahead if there is a bit of a wait for prescriptions. They will also get something in for you if they don't have it in stock. The pharmacist always addresses you by first name which makes it very personalized and always has time to talk to you if you have any questions regarding medication or over the counter products.

Wanted to exchange unopened supplement as I noticed it has kelp which I can’t take due to thyroid condition. Wouldn’t do it without receipt even tho I have internet banking record showing clearly exact price and date of purchase, Have a blooms loyalty card which surely they could see the purchase under but simply couldn’t be bothered to help/reprint receipt , and to add insult to injury, then insinuated it was coz I could’ve been pulling a scam by purchasing a product online and trying to return to get store credit. I mean surely someone would remember my face from just days ago or could check the stock level and see that wasn’t true. How rude to imply your regular customer is dishonest just so you can weasel out of an exchange that incurs zero loss to your business except maybe 10 minutes of inconvenience . Won’t shop there again.

About 2 weeks ago went in to blooms chemist with my mum to get her diabetic medication which they said if the scripts could be faxed over they would fill them when we went back was told they wouldn’t fill them due to low supply and needing them for there regular customers, forward to today same situation where mum needs the injection medication was asked which needle size she needed she couldn’t tell them as this was a new medication, that if she didn’t know they could just give the medication to her as the needle supply was low and they needed to keep them for there regular customers needless to say we will not be going back there at all. She was previously a regular customer prior to moving to chemist closer to home

I was a regular customer at Blooms for 8 years and during this time I was frequently reminded by fellow customers and ex customers, of the pharmacist’s consistently rude and arrogant behaviour. He was never pleasant to me, but this didn’t trouble me particularly at the time. I had already been warned a few times, that he had a penchant for being rude to customers with mental illness. If he chose to be a jerk, what could I do? However, late 2022 on discharge from hospital, it was arranged that I would start Webster paks through Blooms. It was more hindrance than help from the get go. Needing a doctors letter to cease even Panadol from the pack. That wasn’t Blooms fault, but I found the whole thing awfully frustrating. So when I had possession of all new scripts, I went to another pharmacy and had them filled. I felt it was time for a change, and I really wanted a pharmacist I could talk to. Not one who did nothing to disguise his contempt. I rang Blooms to tell them what I had done and cancelled my Webster paks days before I was to pick them up. The way I was spoken to when I told the staff member was disgraceful. She literally screamed down the phone that I owed them $84.95 because medication had been dispensed, that I needed a doctor’s letter to stop the service, that the pharmacist could dispense without a script. I said that I would have to pay next week because I’d already had my medication dispensed at another pharmacy (I was shocked, I didn’t know what to say). It went on and on, what would happen if I didn’t pay etc. She was so rude I felt compelled to say “there is no need to speak to me like that”, but she kept on. Fortunately I had someone else in the room with me. My phone wasn’t on speaker; however she still heard the staff member clearly. I was absolutely stunned by the woman’s behaviour. What possible justification could she have for speaking to anyone in that way?!? Then again I had been told about this staff member’s record of rude behaviour to customers; I just hadn’t been lucky enough to experience it myself.Did I mention I was a loyal customer for 8 years…?Ok, so I did assume I could cancel the Webster paks myself. Silly me, thinking that as an adult I could end the service myself. Blooms didn’t provide me with any information on the “do’s and don’ts” of the service. I don’t see why the customer should have google that information. It was an honest mistake, plus I assumed incorrectly how many days prior to my pick up date, they dispensed to the pack. My GP emailed him the next day, so I could officially stop the service. I didn’t return to Blooms to pay the following week; I’d already had my scripts filled for the month elsewhere. I couldn’t see how it would be legal to go pick up the same pills there a week later. Plus I didn’t know who to ask to clarify the matter (I certainly wasn’t going to ask Blooms!). I avoided returning as well because I was very nervous about how I would be received after making this “unforgivable” mistake. As far as I know, my Webster pak is still there, and I haven’t supplied any scripts.Anyway, I received a bill about 2 weeks later for $84.95. I looked up the dispensing laws in NSW (which was riveting)all because the medication was dispensed sans scripts. Finally I rang up the Pharmacy Guild and was told about ‘owing scripts’, that it was a grey area. I realised that if I took it further it would just be a massive s$&t storm, it wasn’t worth the trouble. The unbelievable element to this saga is that even after 8 years of loyalty as a customer, my first mistake and I’m treated like rubbish. Why they don’t attach a Webster pak user guide to the actual webster pak, I don’t get. It wouldn’t have taken much effort, would’ve prevented this situation and I wouldn’t have had to search the net after the fact.Sure, he got his $84.95. However, he’s lost my custom of $1000’s a year and that of 2 other now ex customers as well.Of all the things we can be in this world, the best thing you can be is kind.

Me (16) and my mother (49) went into the chemist while visiting a friend in Lithgow to purchase a puke bag for my disabled father who can’t keep food down. We got our puke bag and I grabbed a couple bottles of nail polish because they were fairly cheap, but the entire time we were in the store we were followed around by a tall, older employee and watched constantly. When we got to the counter to pay, the lady at the counter asked us if that was it. My mom said yes and then she asked again if that was it and when my mother again replied yes she very condescendingly said “are you sure?”. After that she then proceeded to make us show her what was in our shopping bag (we had been to target before and purchased all of two things) and was very rude about it. So then I asked her if she wanted to see the receipt and she continued to be rude and very shortly answered no. After this my mom was mid panic attack, so she told them forget it and we left without purchasing anything. This all likely happened because I dress slightly alternatively, even then I’m not wearing all dark colours and I always keep my sleeves rolled up and never touch my pockets in stores because I’ve been accused of stealing for the way I look before. This needs to change, I’ve read all the other reviews and it seems bad service and a certain chemist being rude to customers is a re-occurring theme and it will just drive more and more customers away.

Very helpful staff and the actual chemist itself has provided me and my family with the most suitable products for all our medical needs. The only downside is it can get quite busy, especially at the prescription area. It would be great if the shop or even just the prescription area was bigger, to accommodate for the amount of people that come in. However, the staff work so quickly and efficiently that despite the amount of people that pass through you never have to wait long.
