Small but great experience if you haven’t seen how glass is made. Must try to “make your own”.

Lovely original pieces on display and we were able to watch part of a class. There are a few ways to enjoy this venue.

A good place for kids and adult to admire the art work with glasses and learn more about how to creat a piece of glass. Visit with coin donation at the door gate.Beautiful art work and the process of glass items production can be observed on the stage with place for wheelchair individuals. You can also purchase handmade products at gallery and shop on the ground floor. The Glass Art studio is located in the Kingston Powerhouse, one of the oldest building in Canberra. The power station was no longer generated eletricity from 1957, and currently served as an exhibition with beautiful silk from the top.Glassworks also offers course for kids and adults who love to understand more about making glass. It will be valuable time for tourists to enjoy and gain more knowledge in the field of glass art.

Based in Canberra's original power station, this is not only a heritage listed building but also an interesting insight into glass item production. There are several areas to investigate - a hot area (where you can watch a glassmaker at work if you are lucky), a cold area (with an artist in residence to observe) and a small shop exhibiting artist's ware for sale. Entry by donation and about 60mins is a good time to allow.

A must see! Go on the weekend when the Old Bus Depot market is open as well!I thought I’d spend like 30 minutes but wound up staying an hour and a half watching a student make a vase! Fascinating stuff!

I really enjoy visiting this place and try make a stop nearly each time I'm in Canberra. It's free to look through and watch the guys and girls create such amazing glass products .Some of these works are commissioned and you can see pretty much the whole process if you have time .They also have some beautiful piece for sale which is on display.

Seeing the artists at work makes this establishment worth visiting. There is a viewing area with seating which allows you to get very close and see how they make all sorts of things. That is the 'Hot Room'. There's another area 'Cold Room' which is as the name suggests. The gallery / shop area is nice.Plenty of parking.

Charming gallery with the opportunity to tour the behind the scenes of a glass blowing works. The building has quite a lot of history, and the area itself is quite pleasant too.

Canberra Glassworks is housed in a historical industrial building. The staff were helpful and directed us to the viewing area. We sat and watched glass being blown; our first time seeing this traditional way of making glassware. There is a shop with lovely handmade glassware on sale and a small gallery. We spent about an hour here.

The workshops weren't operating while I was there. Amazing old building. The coal bunkers are still institu as it wasn't possible to extract them without damaging the integrity of the whole structure.Walking around the mezzanine gives you a birds eye view of the workshops.Example of the various techniques are on display.Good luck leaving the gallery without purchasing exquisite glass artwork.
