Mavis' Kitchen and Cabins

Mavis' Kitchen is outstanding! The food is so diverse, connected to the local area and divine. The range of beautiful wines and cocktails is fabulous, and the location is stunning, welcoming and peaceful. And my friends and I couldn't speak highly of all of the staff - outstanding customer service in every respect. Thank you, Team Mavis, on ensuring that our lunch was one that we remember fondly for the rest of our lives!

We enjoyed a magical anniversary celebration in the cosy and romantic log cabin along with a scrumptiously decadent long lunch and drinks. The service, staff and food exceptional. We also enjoyed a private trip around the organic gardens with the knowledgeable and lovely Jackie, we may even have eaten some delicious tamarillos straight from the tree. The bathroom in the log cabin could do with a bit of love. Thank you team, we will be back!

Today I came in for lunch and it was outstanding. The restaurant manager, Johnny, was so attentive. He was easy to talk to and friendly and really knew everything about the menu. All of the staff who walked around with smiles on their faces, regardless of the heat and humidity and all happy to have a quick chat.Chef Simon's food is also well thought out and greatly executed. Every dish had at least one component from the garden on it. It was fresh. Light. Summery. Tasty. And all round something you'd want to go back for.Local duck with cherries from the garden and cabbage. The skin on the duck was to die for. The cucumber salad, cucumbers picked off the vine this morning. Herbs from the garden. Salty and sweet peanuts. Light Nam Jim dressing.The coconut and mango dessert was what I call summer in your mouth.I look forward to coming back again.

Visisted recently and while the food was nice I was underwhelmed with the food. Its good quality produce much of the vegetables grown in their own garden so very fresh but the flavours in the some of the dishes was dissapointing. A friend had wild caught Barramundi which was very good apparently but more than half our group were a bit dissapointed.

Mavis' Kitchen never disappoints when it comes to a beautiful location, great staff and an incredible food journey.It would be good to see food portions increased a little. I know it's modern cuisine, but it would be nice to not feel hungry after dropping $50/head on lunch.Would also be great to see some cheaper options on the menu, as not everyone can afford a lunch main starting at $34, buteveryone should be able to visit your restaurant; as it's truly a special experience. Thanks for another delicious lunch!

The Farmhouse is large and very comfortable. Good appliances. However our stay was spoiled by a rat in one of the downstairs bedrooms that had actually ripped up a pillow case and a sheet on the bed! Said Rat woke and seen by guest who then could not sleep. The two down stairs bedrooms are not well sealed. An upstairs bedroom had ants dropping out in the bed from the light fitting. The house needs some maintenance in regard to “pests”. We would not stay there again. However the restaurant did not disappoint

I have been coming to Mavis‘s kitchen once or twice a year for many years now. The food is always superb. Well worth a visit in the drive is fantastic. Investigating the place for a possible wedding venue, looks particularly fantastic for that. Accommodation in the log cabin is rustic charm done right.

Blown away by the food. Truely excellent. We were spoiled with a wedding banquet that didn't seem to end. Nor did we want it to! Next time we're in the area we'll drop in again for sure.

This could be the worst restaurant in NSW! We had lunch yesterday and were very disappointed.The brie cheese starter was no bigger than your little finger - $18! Of the 5 mains on the menu, 2 were not available. I could not find any duck leg in the fettuccine. The small barramundi portion was accompanied by cold roasted pumkin, and the more than 100% markup on the wines topped it off.Our good friends who had been before were disappointed and embarrassed by the episode.Dennis.

The location is beautiful, that can't be faulted. You can sit inside and out over 2 levels. Service isn't bad but doesn't reflect the price point. We had the coal roasted fish which comes with one side of veg for $36. The fish was perfectly cooked and the broccoli too but ease off on the oil chef and maybe add a wedge of lemon on the plate. I highly recommend you get a second side to share with someone ( the fries can feed 3 easily). The cocktails were pricey considering a straightforward Negroni was far too bitter. Not trying to be ungrateful but at this price point the simple things should be flawless. That said, I have no doubt you will have a lovely time at this restaurant.
