Cool Atmosphere. The City of Nedlands Library is a wonderful community resource that offers a wide variety of resources and services for residents. The library has a well-stocked collection of books, magazines, and other materials, as well as a comfortable and inviting environment for reading and studying. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and always willing to help patrons find what they need. The technology resources, including computers and printers, are also well-maintained and easy to use. Overall, the City of Nedlands Library is a great place to visit for information, education, and leisure.

Set back from the busy Stirling Highway, Nedlands library is a quiet oasis.Well resourced and a great place to catch up on your newspaper reading, work on the public computers or find a quiet spot to write your book.Free to join, wide variety of books, audio books, large print books, kids books and stocks most authors. The library sets aside groups of books for book clubs and has a resource room set aside for school projects. The library also runs interesting courses on creative writing, sponsors literary related talks and is a volunteer hub. I always feel satisfied about the use of my rates when I go there!

I agree 100%with Erin's review. I use this library for studies to get away from children. However it can be noisy at times. Some users don't bother about others. There is no control over this matter.

A great old library from '66 with unusually for Perth, its modernist style of architecture still wonderfully intact and not knocked over for something newer to be put in its place because it is a classic example of architecture from out of that period. -Much of it now seen as irrelevant and fit for demolition. The Staff can be friendly and helpful to the right people, namely females or extremely respectable male members of the community, and not infrequently thugs!? Do librarians actually read books? Not so sure they do actually. Some librarians can be prone to viewing a librarian's job as being a- 'job for life' where casual complacency, impatience with bothersome librarian members seeking out books, where a kind of self-declared, sneery contempt sets in as the years go by [sometimes in only a matter of months], a prudish imperialist stitch to mouth, a distinct broadness to the sway of their dictatorial 'superwoman' hips, starts to overwhelm such places, if not careful.Like most 'nice' careers however it is these types that tend to predominate in the end. Nice guys-gals rarely rise up the ladder or even last that long tbh. Toxic politics along with an almost psychopathic ambition is usually best, like any nice career! The WiFi and computers however, are just way too slow & as outdated as the Precambrian-age or the very decade this building was constructed. Mainly as outcome of local councilors predilection for nepotism? As in, local 'mates' get the job of providing internet services, and very poor ones at that! However don't come here for computers. Come here because there are far fewer bothersome noisy, thugs about, unlike other libraries. If you can forgive the odd pacific islander gym-goon seeking to make a statement on behalf of rather seductive, malevolent, strangely motivated young librarians prone to christian evangelism, woke activism and a 'taste' for bad boys esp if brown, cowardly, dumb and a 'race-hate' criminal record back in old homeland of nz.Non of which matter now. I'm banned from this library largely because of the unfortunate malevolence of one of its more activist librarians.

Nice library, could do with a minor renovation of some parts of the library, but otherwise pleasant to be in.

Given this place a try so many times for study/quiet reading as it is very close to my house and every time it has been soooo loud. Its like they don't understand the concept of a library. Everyone is talking really loud, kids are yelling and running up and down, doors are slamming. Would not recommend if u want to concentrate on studies/get some peace and quiet. Annoyed.

Old Library feel ... needs a touch up and a little more attention to technology but it fits the bill. (btw its also a good study spot as an alternative to studying at the university of western australia library or ECU)

I have used the library many times as a quiet place to get a bit of work done, without distraction, and I've never had a problem with noise, especially when sitting upstairs.I think it's a great little library. There's a good selection of interesting books, lots of classes, talks and activities and the staff are always friendly and helpful. I feel we're very lucky to have this library. Long may it last!
