Free will making service. Cost for creating Power of Attorney. Great info sheets to help you be prepared and then it’s simple and easy once you’re there. Remember to bring everything they list. Staff friendly, knowledgeable and help you understand all the jargon. Quick to create.

After a 5 months wait , I was informed on the day of appointment there was a need to reschedule. They could not fit me in for another 2 months. I immediately contacted a legitimate law firm and completed my will within 2 weeks. I strongly object to dealing with the public trustee and warn others, beware.

Very disappointed!! They are costly and slow, if you think they are a cost effective option, think again!! The Sunshine Coast Public Trustee office looked after my Mum's estate and charged twice as much as what a private solicitor did for my mother in laws estate that was worth twice the value of my Mum's straight forward estate which they took 12 months to settle!

The staff I spoke to at the front counter were friendly and helpful. The staff member I spoke also promised to get back to me early next week. I feel as though I have to say that much.However, in my experience they are highly inefficient and costly. I work for a person with disabilities who is relying on the Public Trustee to manage their affairs. An incident occurred three months ago which required a timely response from the Trustee and as yet they still have not discharged their duties. It is a disgrace.I have personally seen Australian Taxation Office audits move more quickly than these 'fellows'. (And if you know anything about those audits you know what I mean.)I will triple guarantee you, gentle reader, that the Trustee has no doubt promptly filled out the paperwork to get their hefty monthly fee for the 'management' of this person's affairs.If the Public Trustee Office reads this let me assure you that you have a week to discharge your duties or I will report this outrageous negligence to the State Ombudsman, the Queensland Law Society and even my local State Parliamentarian. I might even go 'all legacy media' on your bone idle a**. Maybe that would stir you into action.Wits reading this might be concluding that I am 'flogging a dead horse'. I can only hope that they are wrong.:⁠-⁠\I feel as though I have an obligation to update this review for the four hundred odd people who have read it.After a mere two months of accomplishing next to nothing, the Public Trustee has now generously bestowed upon me the authority to act on the participant's behalf. In other words, I am now doing the Public Trustee's job. This is despite the fact that the Public Trustee has, what they describe, as a special relationship" with the other organisation involved in this ongoing imbroglio.The other organisation is also an utter disgrace. Unfortunately I think all the 5 star reviews need to be fact checked.I have never found anyone to have had a good experience with this lot.Please don’t think they are doing wills for free. The money comes out of the estate and it’s a very large percentage.

I received an insurance settlement that was given to the PT QLD. I was TOLD explicitly, during my first meeting, that I would be charged 15% of the total and otherwise it was a free service. Six months later I looked at the budget they sent me and discovered they were charging me $10,000+ per year in fees. I had no income at the time. I was told these were bank fees but there was nothing about that on the website which screams Free all over. My impression of bank fees at that time were a few dollars a month, so being charged over $200 a week, and then being given $80 per week to live on ADVERSELY affected my mental and financial health and well being. This organisation cost me 40% of my settlement in fees.

Contacted Public Trustee to make a new will to replace older document made in another State. The whole experience was pleasant and simple. All the staff were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and polite, the process was easy and well explained, and completed quite quickly without drama. Highly recommended.
