Gum Tree Lodge and Bush Camp
Quiet peaceful surroundings. We had a deck site overlooking the ponds...would be lovely in winter...we found our deck very hot facing into the west...even with awnings and shade screens. Owners very obliging and interesting to talk to. Mainly for over 50s...the quiet life.

A fantastic find. Well and truly worth the stop. Super duper host.Glamp bush camping. If you are a car enthusiast, George the host ( with wife Deb) host a tour of their classic cars and caravans.

My husband and I stayed 5 nights at Gum Tree Lodge Bush Camp with other caravanning friends we were all very impressed by the unique and pleasant surroundings of this bush park. We all had a deck overlooking ponds of lilies, frogs, turtles and fish. The whole experience was excellent and a huge credit to Debbie and George who were so friendly and helpful. George’s Diner and Garage a Must See!

My husband and I, plus our four legged pooch had five nights at Gumtree Lodge on a pontoon site overlooking one the dams. George and Debbie made our stay very enjoyable, which included a tour of “George’s Garage”.( A hobby of his rebuilding old cars, hot rods and caravans). We also enjoyed a pizza night, a nightly communal fire, (which Debbie and George attended) and a 2.5km daily bush walk within their property. Thanks for making our stay so memorable. Will definitely stay again and recommend your hidden gem of a place to everyone.Matt and Jenny :))

Gum Tree Lodge and Bush Camp
Gum Tree Lodge and Bush Camp has become our ‘go to’ place when we just want to get away for a few days. We love that it’s over 50s only, and that it’s only an hour from home. We’ve stayed on both a regular site and a deck site we love them both. Debbie and George are perfect hosts. Each time we go, there are a couple of events, such as a pizza night or a BBQ night at George’ s Diner, a retro “Happy Days” style diner. Guests are free to join in or not, but we have always enjoyed the nights. George will also proudly show you his hot rods and vintage caravans; a passion of his. It’s a great place to base yourself, if you want to explore from Buxton to Hervey Bay to Maryborough and all ports in between.

Great site to stay and stay and stay. In fact people we talked too anticipated 2 or 3 days but have been there for weeks. Yes it's over 50s, yes there are no kids and yes it's dog friendly. We had an over the lake site as the pics show, you have your own drive through site with your own landing....very very nice. You can just do nothing or get involved around the fire pits, pizza nights and the workshop tours to see the many hotrods. The 50s diner is a must. We will definitely be back for a longer stay.

Had seen posts about this camp. Booked a deck site and weren't disappointed. This camp is a labour of love and it shows.Owners put on a pizza night and showed us through their museum and diner. 60 powered sites and 6 decks onto dams. Must be self contained and over 50. Love it here and will be back.

Spent a week resting and enjoying the bush setting. A dam was right near our sites where our dog enjoyed a swim every day. Plenty of bush walks in the area for those who enjoy the natural bush and wildlife. Our hosts couldn't be more pleasant and accommodating putting on a bbq and a pizza night which was well received by all who attended. Only have great things to say. Will be returning again soon. A must place to stay
