I have been taking my beautiful dogs to Walkerville Vet for 8 years. I can't speak highly enough of Andrew and his staff. My dogs have always received top quality and cost effective services, and all staff are exceptionally caring. I highly recommend the practice.

Dr Johann and the team at Walkerville Vet have been amazing with their professionalism, empathy and care for our dog Harvey who has had a very rough year. I could not be happier with Dr Johann and the team, and trust them implicitly to look after our best mate. Thank you team!

I recently visited Walkerville Vet South Australia and was blown away by their friendly customer service. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt welcomed and cared for. The staff were attentive and took the time to answer all of my questions. In particular, I was impressed by Dr Claire's professionalism and patience. She really took the time to explain everything to me in a way that was easy to understand, and I felt like she genuinely cared about my pet's well-being.Overall, I would highly recommend Walkerville Vet South Australia to anyone looking for top-notch veterinary care. The staff truly go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and confident in their services. Thank you for everything!

We have really appreciated the professional service and care from Dr Andrew Spanner and his team at Walkerville Vet for about 15 years, firstly with our very old Burmese cat, Tutu and now with our two cats Sharni and Norah. We have always felt that kindness and care was the priority of this practice rather than profit. We love the new premises too especially the cat waiting room which our cats feel much happier in. We are sorry we might not get to see Dr Andrew so much but also have had great experience with other vets in the practice and will continue to see them. Grace and I will always remember the compassion shown by Dr Claire and staff when our 19 year old Tutu had to be euthanised. Thank you Dr Andrew for your years of devotion to animals and their owners. We hope you enjoy your new pathways in your future at the clinic, university and other dreams.

I believe these guys are some of best vets, and I certainly don't mean to attack anyone but unfortunately my experience was not good.• I brought my dog in after noticing his glands were enlarged and he had became less interested in all his normal things, vomitting on occasion, and when I noticed blood in his stools and extremely dark urine I took him into vet same day. Despite explaining all this to the vet I was told he was not in pain and given antibiotics and metacam. I believe METACAM IS ABSOLUTELY INAPPROPRIATE medication for a dog in any type of digestive stress.• Biopsy procedure must have changed because this looked like a cross between a vigorous mini liposuction and digging the insides out of a golf ball with a pin!And repeated 4 x times• Even without clinical measurements ( heart rate, blood pressure etc) I know when my dogs breathing and heart rate is different from normal and when he's lost interest in everything that he normally enjoys, and especially when I start to see his widened pupils and the hollow look of pain in his eyes.. I know he IS IN PAIN.• Sadly Ziggy had to be euthanased a week later due to the lymphoma but in the days beforehand, his organs struggling I lay with him for hour upon hour while he moaned and struggled to breath with fluid accumulating around his chest... But oh no I'm wrong, lymphoma not painful.. OFFENSIVE!!!I'm sorry if this feels like an attack I don't mean to at all!.. what you guys do is amazing and your compassion for these creatures is a beautiful thing.Nothing would have changed the outcome but what I do know is I had a rescue dog that had been horribly mistreated in 4+ years before I got him.. Fearing everybody and everything, after a year he finally stopped trembling, after 2years he completely trusted me and I promised him I would never let him be in pain again. It broke my heart to see fear in his eyes during the biopsy's, (If it was my old dog she would have been too interested in the liver treats coming her way to even notice any needles). I'm sure everyone was doing their best. I cannot accept that this is what is best practice.

Caring and friendly veterinary practice - we have been taking our dogs and cat here for many years. We usually see Dr Johann, who is always very knowledgeable, helpful and overall fantastic, but we have seen multiple vets here and they have all been wonderful. Highly recommend.

I've been taking my dog to Walkerville Vet since she was a pup and we've always had excellent care here. Juno loves going to see Dr Johann and I appreciate that he always takes the time to explain options and shows very genuine care for his clients.

Andrew Spanner treated our two dogs and two cats for 10 years while we were in Adelaide. In all that time, I found him and his team to be extremely professional, caring and responsive. When it came time to have our dogs euthanised at a 2 year interval (both were 14 years old), we couldn't have had a more caring team for the dogs and for us. Our second dog's decline was very sudden and Andrew was visibly distressed when he told me that there was no hope for her. She was put to sleep that evening and his team couldn't have been kinder or more supportive at that horribly traumatic moment.Andrew's advice was always well-considered, evidence-based and in the best interest of the animals.I am surprised at some comments here that have accused him of being rude. I can only think these people must have very thin skin. Andrew can be direct, but never rude.I have no reservation whatsoever in recommending Andrew and his team. Although we and our two cats no longer live in Adelaide, I continue to read his weekly blog because his advice is excellent and trustworthy. I only wish he'd move to Europe and open a practice here!BTW, vet care is expensive but it's still cheaper than human medical care. I hope people consider whether they are prepare to bear this necessary expense BEFORE they get a pet.

Always very welcoming and friendly, thorough care taken of my pets over the last 3 years. Andrew repaired my cats broken paw, he was excellent at explaining everything and the post-op care. She now has full use of that paw. Always happy to recommend this vet.
