the sales rep was rude and offensive saying multiple inappropriate comments to my daughters (8 and 10 yrs old) calling us the rich crew and we should buy the most expensive artwork so they can copy it at home". we didnt buy anything and we won't be back!"

Very friendly and a great place to buy art/souvenirs. If you are getting a souvenir buy from here and support genuine indigenous artwork.

This shop is fabulous just like the people who work there. We initially met the owner Peter & walked on up the street.I brought a pair of shoes from ShoeBiz just up the road & took them back to Nunkeri & asked if they could paint my shoes. The brilliant artist Harold Bowen said not a problem, we discussed colours & design and I now have a individual gorgeous pair of shoes. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My wife and I did the Coral Beach walk today with our guides Harold and Tim. We enjoyed all aspects of the tour especially the conversations storytelling and practical bushcraft information. These added greater understanding to the beautiful views. Enlightening and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

On Sunday, May 7, 2023, my wife Mary and I took a 3 hour tour to Cedar Creek Falls, just out of Airlie Beach. The tour was conducted by the local company Nunkeri Cultural Adventures, which operates from Nunkeri Place in Airlie Beach, an art gallery/[~store selling local indigenous handicrafts. Our driver and guides Jasmine and Karen, were two indigenous women who displayed their knowledge of the local area. On arrival at Cedar Creek Falls, they explained how several different tree species were used by indigenous people in the area, and explained the legend from the dreamtime of how the area and local islands were formed. From the small car park there is a short, but stoney path winding down to the falls to reveal a very picturesque setting. The falls cascade down the rock face from multiple levels into a large rock pool, in which you can swim (if you’re so inclined, we didn’t bother). There is also a rocky path beside the pool which leads to the top of the falls. Jasmine explained how the area was used by the women for birthing their babies at the pool level, while the men went up the the top of the falls until the birth. For morning tea, Jasmine served us some ginger and lemon tea and lemon biscuits, a delicious combination. Our tour was a small intimate affair with only two other couples, the mini bus could cater for groups of ten or twelve people. Our guides informed us that on the previous day there had been a large goanna around the car park, which gave people an additional photo opportunity, it wasn’t there when we visited. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone, plus having the art gallery/shop with a variety of local handicrafts is great.
