A disappointing experience at an otherwise promising cafe. We ordered our food and one meal arrived before the other (there were 2 of us). This would have been fine except the people who ordered after us got their food at the same time after we received our first meal, and one of the meals they ordered was the exact same as the meal we were waiting on. We had to ask if our food was on the way, and when it arrived the flavour was very disappointing and managed to get through about half of it. Very easy to bring two people's food out at the same time, and that simple thing could have made all the difference. This was the second time this has happened. Unfortunately will not be dining here again.

Wish I read the reviews before eating here.Starting with the positive, the chicken schnitzel burger and chips was a good size and decent price. Everything else was overpriced. My partner ordered from the breakfast menu, and added a hash brown (+$4) and was still underwhelmed with the portion size. The Turkish bread was so small she had to pay an extra $2.50 for a slice of regular wholemeal toast which took a further 12 minutes to be brought out. Won’t be ordering breakfast here again.

Coffee average, smooth. Food average. Service average. Cleanliness average. Menu range average. Order accuracy average. Speed of service good. Value good. Overall experience average. ★★★★We visited on a Wednesday morning in November 2021.Eggs Benedict was very plain, with squirt bottle sauce, no garnish. Dull pancakes. Packet salt and pepper. I asked for strong coffee, but was given single shot.Parking was in Street or nearby shopping; there were spaces for disabled people too.Choice to dine in, alfresco, or take-away.The outside of the cafe is well presented.The cafe looks average, is average. Nothing shines.Wheelchair accessible entry.Thoughtful menu for breakfast and lunch

Not great experience. There was a long queue which took a while. Coffee was average (like Nescafé packets) while the food wasn’t worth the wait. Ordered the eggs Benedict’s expecting my eggs to be nicely cooked they were overdone and hard boiled (see pic). I would have sent it back but it was too busy and we wanted to explore the beaches as already had a long delay waiting for the food.

Decided to have breakfast here at GJ’s Bay Cafe and Grill but had trouble finding the place! The sign out the front has ‘Kitchen on the Bay’ on it and out the back it’s called GJ’s so that should be fixed!No table service which I wasn’t expecting, the views were amazing though - definitely a highlight and a reason why we came here.The coffee was definitely below average, with a taste of burnt coffee beans. I did enjoy my breakfast wrap though, which was filling and very tasty and overall good value. The place has so much potential, just gotta get that coffee right.

If I could give a lower star rating I would, we sat for an hour waiting on our breakfast. People who arrived 30 minutes or more after us got served and all we had received was our drinks. When I asked where our meal was they started looking for the docket, this is when we decided to get our money back and leave. They had apparently lost out dockets, 2 separate dockets, one of which had a hot chocolate that was delivered to the table. I was looking forward to my pancakes for breakfast that I always get from this place when I visit, the new owners have really let the reputation of the establishment down. I guess I could allocate the star to the view, because it deserved it.

Never ever go here if you want good quality, tasty food. I thought atleast the coffee will not disappoint us but alas!! It tasted like the beans were burnt.Smashed avo with egg for $15. They could have placed a smaller piece of Turkish bread! And the egg, I thought I made the world's worst poached eggs. But to my surprise no. I admire the chef's courage to plate such a disfigured poached egg. Ha!This place has so much potential with that kinda view but the food is such a disappointment. The decor is so outdated as well, from chairs, tables to high chairs. Made a mistake by not reading the reviews before getting in here. Should have.

I would eat here again. Would I rave about the service? Yes I would. Would I rave about the food? No, but it was okay. Decent house style cooking with very little flair, but decent serving sizes. The coffee was okay, but really the highlight for me was just a nice friendly team to greet you. With a bit of work on the chow this place will be fantastic.
