International Wing Chun Academy (Burwood)

International Wing Chun Academy Burwood branch is a martial arts school that is amazing for all practitioners, be it experienced or not. It checks all the boxes for a martial arts school. The Wing Chun curriculum in the Academy is unlike any other, it is built on grades and levels that establish the fundamentals before adding and introducing further techniques and theories, making it easier to learn Wing Chun and gain proficiency. Training for 1 year at this academy had provided me with a skillset unobtainable at other schools. The academy also fits HIIT into the lessons, which has been tremendously helpful in developing my physical health and improving my mental wellbeing. The community at the branch is very tight-knit, with the instructors and students all having unique and fun personalities. Senior Instructor Anthony is the most experienced, humble, and welcoming instructor; he was the first instructor I met when I began Wing Chun. He teaches in incredible detail whilst also remaining relatively easy to understand. In my first lesson, he gave me a simple, easy to follow, and structured lesson that remained extremely engaging and fun. This first lesson (which was also free) paved the way for my martial arts development and passion for the art. Senior Instructor Jonathan is experienced, passionate, and supporting, though I don’t train with him as often, every time I do, I find myself inspired and having great joy with the lessons. Instructor Calvin is funny and down to earth, and is cracking a bit too many puns. He always finds a way to break the serious atmosphere. The junior instructors there are the most passionate, down to earth, and giving of their time and advise. Overall, it is truly an awesome place to train and equips students with life skills. Training there myself, I’ve become fitter (before training, I wouldn’t be found dead exercising), stronger, healthier, and comfortable with myself and my self defence abilities.

This is a fantastic Wing Chun Academy. I attend the Burwood branch and the instructors are all very professional, helpful and patient no matter your skill level. A special mention to Anthony and Marco who have displayed amazing skill and patience as they take us on our Kung Fu journey.

Instructor Anthony is excellent!!! Was very impressed from my first visit. Training is catered to beginners and advanced students. Has a great atmosphere and friendly environment.Would highly recommend
