Bar and Wait staff were excellent.The food and ambience is the reason for 2 stars.The seating would have to be the most uncomfortable I've come across in a Bistro, ordering meals and delivery thereof was haphazard.The food was hit and miss. Big portions but pretty low on quality. The steaks were ordinary, which is a shame for a country pub. The roast of the day looked and tasted like it came directly from a dodgy nursing home, dry flavourless meat (I think it was beef?), rock hard veggies and a generic sort of gravy. It had the appearance of being microwaved. Ick!The risotto was surprisingly good.The deserts were a huge disappointment. Obviously bought in and not made in house.There are many great pubs in the area, unfortunately this is not one of them.

Very friendly staff, locals and delicious meals!I'm so glad to stop by this place for dinner. It's near to Halls Gap, good to come into this town on days where Halls Gap becomes very crowded especially around dinner time.The staff is fantastic and attentive. I order my meal later than my family's but she help to sort out the arrangement so that all meals come out around the same time. Had a very pleasant time here also with locals that are friendly.Will be back again when come back to Grampians.

Ordered fish and chips, the chips were under cooked and the fish was so tough could not cut it with a knife. Never experienced tough fish in my life, until we came here. Never again, left in disgust and disappointment.

Went in for a quick meal after an exhausting day. The atmosphere felt sort of hostile & staff weren't really friendly at all. The soup was extremely spicy (this is not mentioned on the menu at all)- I couldn't even finish more than ¼ of it, even after putting thickened cream through it. It came with odd, squishy Brioche bread pieces- not the type of bread you would serve with soup. Wouldn't bother going back, not a geat experience.

Strong country pub atmosphere that may feel either strangely charming or eerily weird. Regardless, the staff is very friendly and the beer is cold. Inside a bunch of old geezers are wasting away their retirement funds, but outside is a nice outdoor sitting area. There's sports on everywhere and gambling machines available. If you lower your expectations a tad and fancy a drink this place is well worth a stop and a chat.
