Sunrise Cove Holiday Apartments

Overall, I had a great experience At Sunrise Cove; staff was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great. The room was wonderful, spacious and clean. It was a perfect family get away!!!

We have just returned home after a 2 night stay at no 21 Sunrise Cove. A lovely break away spoilt by the standard of the accommodation and lack of service provided by management. Cleanliness was appalling. None of the floors had been mopped. The kitchen floor had a big lump of mud-like substance. God knows it was. We had to clean it up using wet wipes.The verandah was dirty and needed to be mopped.We had to wash all the dishes as they had not been cleaned - eg all glassware had finger marks and coffee/tea cups were stained. The staining came off when washed properly.No washing up liquid provided so we had to buy our own to clean the dishesThe bathrooms were dirty and had to be cleaned before we could use them.When we arrived the A/C was going full blast, so much so that the mirror in the lounge was totally obscured by condensation and all the glasses in the kitchen cupboards were soaking with condensation. We phoned 5 times to the provided number to report the problem but no one ever answered our calls. We left a message on the answer system but still did not receive a response. We ended up walking into town and reporting the issue at the El Paradiso reception. It was not fixed during our stay though someone did turn up on day 2 of our 3 day stay so that we could explain the issue in detail. We just had to switch it off using the isolator switch. Hence, the apartment was not air conditioned during our stay.When you are paying over $390 per night you expect at least 4 star accommodation and service, not 1 star or less.The operational management and administration of the place is very poor and is doing a huge disservice to both owners and holiday makers. It's appalling.

The room was not ready until 4.30pm and then we realised it was not air conditioned on the hottest day of the year. One toilet had urine and toilet paper in it. Could not stay and was refused refund, very old building

My friend booked a two bedroom apartment 16.The apartment was massive and the view was lovely. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking items.Downside was there was a huge amount of mold in the living space. The roller curtains were covered in mold. The wall above the 3 seater lounge had mold, the TV unit and even DVD player had mold. The carpet is in desperate need of replacing. It was a lovely unit just really needs a thorough clean and renovation.

The unit we are staying in appears to be undergoing renovation with new appliances and furniture. However, toilet seat was broken, bathroom cockroach infested, blood stains on the doona cover, one flimsy pillow per bed and a drunken party going till late meant we had to close all windows and doors with only ceiling fans to push around hot humid air. For over $400/night for what was supposed to be a special weekend away for a special birthday for my mum I’m feeling really disappointed. Suspect we will leave a day early and back up tomorrow morning because I can’t stand the thought of being here for another night. It’s appalling

Great location, but the rooms do not have AC or fans in the main living area. In unit 22, the washing machine did not work well ( or at all), and the dishwasher died after one use. Needed a very good clean. We left a list of items that needed attention but have never had a response back from the owner.Despite this, we enjoyed Kingscliffe and the area. But I cannot recommend these units.

We stayed in unit 4Was a lovely view of the creek ,great location,clean ,beds comfortable,tv all worked it was quite ,pool was clean .The unit was a little stuck in the 80,s ,could do with a revamp .Furniture a little outdated ,carport too small to fit our car.But it was all we needed for our beach holiday.walking distance to shops,beach ,creek .Fully self containedOverall we enjoyed our stay here .Definitely not a 5 star resort .But if you are after an affordable ,clean ,basic place to stay then it’s great

Great location and access to shops and beaches, awesome view along side the boardwalk outside. Pretty awesome aside from the hot water system. Do not take a shower at the same time as someone else in your unit. Turning of the shower while they are showering could result in 3rd degree burns and terrible damage as their hot water systems are WAY overkill and full hot turned on at the tap will give you boiling and steaming water in your cup. BE CAREFUL WITH THE HOT WATER. It ended up burning my wrist after turning the cold off before the hot in the shower.
