I have had my property rented through Magic Rentals and have found them to be professional and responsive. They have kept me up-to-date with any property maintenance issues and have organised excellent tradesmen to do any necessary work required on the property in a timely manner. I have found all the staff at Magic Rentals great to deal with and they offer great advice from their long standing rental experience. I think Magic Rentals understands the needs of the landlord as well as the tenant - and I can highly recommend them to anyone with a property to rent.

We highly recommend Magic Rentals as we received excellent service in re-letting our 2 properties. Ali was outstanding in finding tenants and exceeded our expectations with rental returns.Ali has a thorough understanding of the rental market and she was fantastic to deal with. She kept us in the loop every step of the way. She sorted out the necessary trades to fix, paint, install and clean up everything.Very professional and I have no hesitation in recommending their services.

My property was rented through another agent in Adelaide since 2018 and they did a very bad job ( or you can say they did nothing, seriously nothing), the house was a complete mess as the tenants were so negligent and the agent failed to do routine inspections (see pic 3 &4 ).My friend who’s been with Magic Rentals for years recommended Ali to me and Ali has been an absolute pleasure to work with. She not only offered to help me with the end of lease stuff for free, but also organised everything such as photo shoots, cleaning and gardening ( see photo 1 &2）in advance to make sure my house can be back on market ASAP.The transition from the previous agent to Magic Rental was quite stressful to me but Ali was always there to help me, she’s so responsive and supportive, the transition ended up being quite smooth, and the house was listed 3 business days after the tenants moved out, which is awesome!I’ve only been with Magic Rentals for few weeks but I can already feel that my property is in good hands. I’m glad that I made the decision to leave the previous property manager and transferred to Magic Rentals, can’t wait to have the property leased soon.

This agency (and Rebecca Rose) starts off seeming good. However, pretty early in the process, their requirement to needing rent paid by automatic deduction system through a third party was the beginning of red flags. Don't agree to this! If the payment bounces at any point, the third party agency charges you 20$ fees. Information about these fees were not made known at the start of the tenancy.Multiple attempts of trying to act in good faith were met with refusals. Be very careful what you report as maintenance and how you do it as they will try to make you pay for it. For example, for a dishwasher fault, where the manual says needs a service, the agency tried to make me pay for the tradesman call-out. Take pictures, record conversations, as this will be useful at the inevitable tribunal.When I raised the dishwasher issue and the direct debit issue in a tribunal complaint, the agency changed their mind and agreed to get rid of the direct debit.When I sought advice from Tenancy SA regarding some issues, they told me that Magic Rentals (now Ellis Real Estate) is one of the agencies that they get lots of tenancy issues arising from.Make sure you double check dates in renewal notices as their standard practice is not to renew for 1 year, but whatever date falls on a monday, to make their job easier.The end of lease process was horrible, and the agency tried to claim many thousands of dollars in spurious claims. They did not give me the opportunity to get my own cleaner back to reclean what they felt needed cleaning. It took months for them to actually submit the tribunal hearing. After a long and tedious hearing, the tribunal ruled in my favour for most things.The agency sends an email with a thinly veiled threat that if you request the bond refund yourself it will make things more difficult. The real reason they do this is so they can have time (up to months) to try to claim money from you and your bond). Don't listen! If you submit the bond request, then the clock is ticking on the agency. If they want to dispute it, then THEY are responsible for initiating the dispute, and have to pay the small fee to dispute it, not you.Overall, this agency has been responsible for my worst tenancy experience in Australia. As a landlord previously, I'd be appalled at this agency if I found out this is how they were treating my own tenants.You'll see multiple excellent reviews on google, all from owners. SA Tenancy Advice's experience from this agency, along with mine, means you should RUN and never rent from them.Advice if you decide to rent with them:1. Do NOT agree to their direct debit system2. Take all your own pictures of the property before and after.3. Any phone conversations regarding disputes or issues, send emails to the agency to record particulars in the event of a tribunal hearing.4. Request a bond refund yourself the second your lease is up.5. This agency will claim that you need to agree to certain things. Love the team at Magic Rentals. They are genuinely interested in your property and also the renters. They are easy to deals with and answer questions quickly and with detail. They have always found tenants in a timely manner and kept me informed continuously throughout the process. Their communication, attention to detail and professionalism is outstanding. I have never worried about our property since they took over as managers some year ago. I highly recommend them!

Renting through Magic Rentals was our first experience going through a rental agency. Our experience up until now has been very positive. The team are easily accessible and respond to queries in a timely manner.They were very prompt in processing our application and completing all the paper work required for the tenancy. This being our first experience with renting, they have been very helpful with explaining everything and walking us through the rental and inspection process.I commend them for their customer service, responsiveness and the way they manage the client and rental agency relationship.
