No stars would be better. Claim submitted in February. Estimator Lachlan was prompt and excellent. The company however do not answer their phones so eventually I visited their office in Mitchell. Although most of the staff but not all were pleasant they were not helpful. Then an appointment was made for their sub contractor to measure the kitchen cabinetry needing replacement. The appointment was not met and no communication.I went to their office again to sort and was promptly told they were not prepared to continue and I was not to have any further communication with them. Reason given to the insurer was my behaviour. I was unhappy but respectful. If anything the staff had attitude. They should not be in business. This was a 4 month wait for no service and no consideration of my time. terrible company!

Absolutely appalling service and even worse communication skills. How has this business not gone out of business is the only question. I had to select 1 star for a rating, but only because 0 stars is not an option.

Very bad experience to deal with the company, it took forever to do their job, after the job done, in the maintain period, the things they fixed keep fall off, contact various times but no one come and fix it. Very disappointed with them.

Following a severe hailstorm in Canberra in Jan ‘20, Johns Lyng was contacted to check our apartment building at 1 Provan St in Campbell. An invoice for over $700, dated some four months later, was received many months after that by our Strata Manager for “Make safe” inspection. Apart from a call out fee of $484, the invoice had a charge of $96 for “Project Management” and $60 for “Administration”. The invoice indicates that no work was actually done at the building but claims it was “watertight” - which is somewhat difficult to comprehend as no access to the building or its roof was provided to any Johns Lyng staff. Questions to both the ACT office and, subsequently, the Head Office of Johns Lyng concerning the invoice have gone unanswered. We can only assume that no one actually attended the building and that we are over $700 worse off for zero service and interest in customer concerns. Our Strata Management company has been directed to not engage Johns Lyng in the future.

At the start of the year a severe hailstorm across Canberra, resulted in our rental property being significantly damaged. Although living interstate, and with Covid preventing us from travelling, the service we received from Greg Pike and his team was outstanding. His communication was regular and clear, leaving no room for ambiguity and he was available at any time to answer any questions that I had. He is a natural problem solver and obviously very experienced. Coordinating the multiple trades required to address the damaged areas, would have been no mean feat.A couple of the repairs required us to pay up front and seek reimbursement from Johns Lyng. This process was quick and unproblematic with the funds paid to us within 24 hours.I would like to thank JohnsLyng Regional Builders for their professionalism in handling our claim in what could have been a much more stressful process.

My experience with this company has been absolutely terrible. They are currently repairing the apartment next door, after it caught fire over 5 months ago. They have barely been there for the past few weeks. However, I had an important exam to complete online today, and so yesterday, I texted the builder in charge and asked if any work would be completed today, so that I could move elsewhere if the noise would inconvenience me.The reply I received was “no work will be taking place tomorrow.” So I believed that it would be ok to complete my exam in my own home. This was a lie.As I was about to start my exam, the drilling began next door. There were builders doing work in the apartment next door, making a tonne of noise. I went and knocked on the door, asking them what they were doing, given that I had been told they would not be working. They told me they had work to do.After 40 minutes of calling the head builder, he finally called me back. He assured me that they would stop. When I expressed my anger, as it had severely inconvenienced me, he laughed at me. Disgusting. He then apologised and said they would not continue for the rest of the day. This was another lie.I began my exam. And 40 minutes later, the drilling continued again. For my whole exam, I had to deal with sporadic drilling, hammering, water noises and other construction. Men were walking on the scaffolding directly outside my window. And there was no attempt to stop work for the afternoon. Even though they were fully aware that I was next door doing an exam.I was in tears at the end of my exam. I was constantly distracted and even more upset that they had lied to me again, and seemed to have no consideration for me at all. Later, when I went to leave my apartment, the builders had left plumbing pipes across my doorstep and had removed my doormat. They didn’t ask. They didn’t warn me about the pipes. Again, they didn’t really seem to care.I was severely inconvenienced by this company, and it may result in me failing a course at university. I was lied to multiple times. They made my life so much worse, and it feels like they honestly couldn’t care less about anyone.

More than two months after a major natural disaster and they still don’t seem to know what’s happening on the ground or in their own company. They have keys and exclusive access to our property yet keep calling to arrange access.Contents appears to be missing and unaccounted for, other contents remains wet and mouldy in our wardrobes and linen press. Structures like ceilings and plaster cornices remain wet and black with mould.A freezer that’s been without power for over two months is still there full of rotting food.Yet they claim the property has been stripped and is ready for mould decontamination.Promises of call backs and information updates that never happen.I could not be less impressed. It’s totally at odds with a previous flood recovery experience from the same insurer.
