Fried rice disgusting, smelt and tasted the way I assume public toilet cleaner could taste.Positive: scallops with cashews good chicken schnitzel too.

Large portion sizes, very odd mix of Chinese food and standard Bistro food on the menu. Deep fried dishes need some work. Seafood is fresh but in the words of Gordon ramsay, it's just bland. Someone forgot to season the fried stuff. Oddly the curry prawns were surprisingly delicious. The chicken parma is better than 99% of Melbourne restaurants. Absolutely fantastic. Like absolutely-f******-fantastic. Order the chicken parma!

Was there a couple of years ago and food was a bit pricey but good. Was there last week. Food has gone down in quality and prices have skyrocketed. $12 for short soup - come on some of the best restaurants I have ever been to would not charge that. Last time we go there - very basic rsl and restaurant.

Only good thing about this place is that the food came out fast. Other than that, I ordered beef Mongolian. It did NOT taste like beef Mongolian at all. The most odd flavour and it was so strong. Worst Mongolian ever. The parma was dry, and the onion in the salad had all the cores on it. Not the best service either.

After arriving in lakes at a late hour all venues were fully booked. But this bistro was happy to serve us with only 10mins before kitchen closing. Thank you RSL bistro staff. Good service and seating.

Admittedly everyone else enjoyed their meals, this got the review an extra star.The staff were very nice but the venue and the food was lacking somewhat. I understand an RSL meal is probably usually a little more basic but it usually has a price tag to match.There are plenty of better options

Myself and partner had lunch there recently as we have on many occasions. The Chinese food used to be absolutely fantastic but the last 3 times we have been there we have been very disappointed with the meal the preparation of the vegetables in my beaf and black bean was terrible firstly the vegetables weren't diced small enough and they were totally uncooked. The fried rice was not very good it totally lacked ingredients flavour my partner is not Chinese but she can do a far better fried Rice. I don't know if there has been a change of chefs but I sincerely hope they improve there cooking as it is a very nice place to go and the staff are always very friendly and efficient. Regards Kevin
