Warning to future host employersWhy don’t they answer your phone callsWhy don’t they respond to emailsWhy don’t they respond to textThey are very quick to respond to paymentAnd before Peer go into deference to explain and make excuses for their lack of professional attitude just try to call themSurviving just on a 3star review

My son did the pre-apprenticeship through PEER, sent to a new company for 2 weeks work experience, who didn't really want an apprentice.. more like free labour. so as they didn't take him on PEER pretty much said 'see you later', although he was willing to go to another place for a further 2 weeks 'unpaid'. I've read similar things happening to others, I don't recommend this company at all. Dream shattering!

Great learning institution. Staff & trainers are super friendly and well informed. I am attending my GAP training as electrician with them and the feeling is that PEER wants you to succeed. Thank you to the trainers and keep up the good work. We really appreciate your efforts and assistance.

these negative reviews are very concerning. young school leavers looking towards a trade read these and think WHY?? this needs further investigation to assist these people looking towards this organisation for support to start a careerr path.

They boast and advertise everywhere that they're an equal opportunity employer however they do NOT take on adult apprentices. This has been confirmed by a recruitment employee working there saying people don't hire adult apprentices. Maybe you should remove your equal opportunity employer" print from your business if it is infact a lie.Update: thanks for the response but no

Outstanding company to work with. We have nothing but praise for Brooke, Gavin and the team at Peer. They work hard with the employers to find reliable apprentices. As a trade business, we love to give people an opportunity to commence their career and learn a trade. Peer have been incredible at finding quality candidates, they support the apprentices with regular site visits and us as employers through out the journey. The payroll team are always bright, cheerful and easy to deal with and they have good systems, which makes payroll straight forward and easy to navigate. I popped in to say hello as I was passing one day and was offered a tour of their facilities, they are amazing. Thank you to Peer and the staff for everything you do.

Currently a 3rd year apprentice through peer and have hated every part of it, did the 2 months unpaid pre apprenticeship course and enjoyed it, sat down in a class and learnt a bit of the trade, once I signed up as a first year they throw u in a room full of other apprentices (aprox 30-50) with all of us at different stages of our training and only 2 trainers between all of us. On the computers we get given a textbook equivalent to teach ourselves the trade school and it’s all individual learning no joint classes. As insinuated in the pre app course. If you ask the trainers questions they either don’t know as they are from a different trade (once had a butcher try to help explain phasor diagrams) or fly through you a million miles a hour and you don’t retain any of it, some of the assessments are absurd as we only get 2 attempts on a test have to get 100% and have 60 minutes per attempt if you fail both attempts you have no ability to retry and have to get scolded by the trainer and redirected back to the online textbook, possibly doesn’t have the answer. We get paid just above the minimum wage. And they pocket the rest. Best thing to do is once you turn 21 leave peer apply any other training group, you’ll get signed up as an adult apprentice and resume ur apprenticeship from the same spot in a class full of people who are at the same stage of their apprenticeship. Peer will not sign you off early doesn’t matter how quick you finish ur trade school. I’m considering leaving peer and dropping the trade with about 1 1/2 years left of my trade. Only thing peer are good for is looking after the safety of their apprentices and the food in the cafeteria.

Scammers. DO NOT USE THEM. My daughter gave up paid employment to attend their training as an Electrical Apprentice. An Adelaide company offered to take her on as an Electrical Apprentice after she did her 2 week work experience with them. PEER then claimed they had no Electrical positions (although they are still advertising them) and said she has to accept a Data and Voice Communications Apprenticeship. She questioned the reasoning for this and received no response. The sneaks at PEER did, however, send the prospective employer an email stating that she did not accept the position.PEER are paid by the Government and totally ripping off the Australian taxpayer.

Peer are paid by the government to train individuals, NOT to employ them. You will be used by employers for free labour with scant opportunity for ongoing employment.I completed a 2 month training position with PEER, which included a 2 week training period at an electrical firm, during which time I was largely unsupervised, or supervised by staff not fully qualified in electrical trade. In a Peer class of 14 students, only 3 participants successfully secured an on-going apprenticeship. This was, obviously, highly concerning for those students who had previously resigned from employed positions in order to purse an opportunity with PEER.My honest advice would be to proceed with extreme caution and to maintain a backup plan.

Disappointed in PEERs communication to my school leaver son seeking information regarding an apprenticeship in current covid environment. He contacted Peer at end of school and was told to come back when he got his driver's licence. He was booked into an skills assessment but didn't attend because his impression was he needed to get drivers licence first. Followed up April and told things are on hold but unlikely to be ever considered because of his failure to cancel earlier assessment. Son is already feeling defeated by current employment environment but correspondence and tone of PEERs communication has left him in a more distressed state. Well done Peer!!
