This was a wonderful, educational stop with kids. They mostly have keyboard-based instruments, but there were plenty of other exotic instruments as well, and lots of historical items. Our guide was funny, knowledgeable and talented, demonstrating most of the instruments for us. We were there off-peak, so the cafe wasn't operating, but the nearby Durnam Stump Tea Rooms are very good. Give yourself at least a couple of hours to get full value from this site! There's a lot to see! Aside from the main building, there is an old church, farmhouse, and workshop, all full of interesting things to see. They also have a stage in the main building where there are periodic concerts. Highly recommended!

This is a great stop with kids. The tour guide demonstrated many oif thge instruments. The history on display is fascinating, the instruments amazing. Although mostly keyboards, there is plenty of variety and some very exotic items. We were there off peak, so the cafe wasn't open, but the Durnam Stump cafe by the freeway is really nice. If you don't have a lot of time, you can look around without a guide, but that wouldn't be nearly as interesting, as you really cannot touch things on your own. Best to give it a couple hours and enjoy the whole thing.

It was not fully open to guests because it has been sold to new owners after many decades of operation. Were preparing for auction of contents. Is planned to become a bed and breakfast.

A unique experience on history of music. A great collection of old musical instruments and artifacts. Any music enthusiast must visit this place. We loved the live entertaintment by the local musicians. A perfect stop over on the way to Gippsland.

Wide variety of keyboard based musical instruments, interesting for most and fascinating for those who play. If you are in a smaller group, you can often have a play on many of the instruments including reed organs, a pipe organ and pianos. Tours are officially about an hour, but can go somewhat longer with enthusiastic visitors who ask questions. Most of the working instruments are demonstrated (some of the rare instruments are not working and rare because they were prone to breaking!) and the guides are informative and entertaining. Something different and well worth a visit.

We came to Darnum later in the day so didn't have time to fully appreciate all of the display. The young lady on duty demonstrated the pianola pieces to us. Definitely a place to spend an afternoon with out having to hurry.

Did not go in due to time restrictions, the sign I read it seems very historic and diverse, over 300 exhibits spanning two centuries, will visit when I am this way again
