The Cooee Motel Gilgandra

A great stay after a long day of driving! We had stayed before in 2019, so decided to stay again. We booked last minute and were pleasantly received by the friendly woman running front desk services. The room was clean, had the basic needs met (fridge, air con, kettle, iron, wifi), gardens beautiful, and it was quiet.Perhaps some improvements could include having enough items for the three of us (I.e. cups, towels, face washers, etc. We asked for the items and were reluctantly given what was needed), as well as integrity with prices (i.e. the website says $120 for the room with queen and single beds, we were asked to pay $135 as we called to book (direct booking discount applies apparently), while we were told the usual price is $145).Otherwise, a pleasant stay, and would stay again. Their little doggo was also pretty adorable :)

I think this was a great little place to stay the night. Great service and there was plenty of rooms available.

Beautifully clean room and the hosts were very friendly. There is a lovely garden/park for you to stroll around or just sit and enjoy the weather and the birdlife. There is the option for breakfast or dinner with in room service, however we didn't partake of this. Maybe next time.. Excellent value for money.

This is a great motel, reception friendly, unit was well stocked and super clean. Even though it is close to a busy highway, there wasn’t hardly any noise once inside the unit. There is also a lovely walking track along the river that is only about 100 metres from the motel. It’s a great halfway stop for us travelling from Glen Innes to Nyngan

Friendly staff, comfortable and clean room. Bed comfortable, some background road noise from trucks but did not interrupt our sleep. Towels were really soft and quality toilet paper.The surrounds and gardens well looked after.Breakfast plentiful, tasty and hot to room.Thank you

Stayed here for one night in July 2019. Undercover parking and the room was clean with a good TV and microwave although in the guest guide it states that cooking is not allowed in rooms. The bathroom was clean and modern with a good shower. The owners also provide a home cooked meal to your room at extra cost.However on the down side the walls between rooms are thin and other guests can be heard snoring their heads off. Also the bed was too soft for me and I found I had to sleep in the middle of the mattress so new mattresses would be a good idea as my one was past it.

Clean comfortable room and surprisingly quiet . Beautiful big harden and lawn - interesting features and well kept- perfect for stretching your legs after a long drive. Great for children to run around.

Beautiful setting. Lovely friendly owners and great food. Our dinner was brought out to us in the park like grounds and it was delicious. Everyone had something different and no-one left a scrap. Rooms are nice and clean and the air conditioner was switched on and the room nice and cool when we arrived which was very welcome as it was incredibly hot outside. The only complaint any of us had was the beds were a little uncomfortable, but we were so tired from the driving it didn't really matter. Thank you for a lovely stay. If we are driving that way again we will definitely stay with you again. Thank you
