SmartHeat Canberra

Not a good experience with SmartHeat Solar Combi Hydronics System. We were promised lots of things that did not happen. System design had no check valves so it cooled down overnight! Heat pump was not fit for purpose. Did not operate correctly. Replacement seems to work. Overall design not thermally efficient meaning the heat pump was straining producing over 50deg water while barely 30deg (like warm) water going to floor. Then we still had to heat up the domestic hot water in the evening! Very inefficient heat exchange! Were told a lot of waffle by them, they blamed our floor piping and told us to run at a higher set point and for longer i.e. use more electricity.The house never felt warm with the SmartHeat system.In desperation and separate from SmartHeat, we installed a separate buffer tank and pump HOT water into floor resulting in a warm house. SmartHeat system NEVER achieved that and we currently only heat (use electricity) for 8hours.Our experience with SmartHeat has been tortuous and drawn out. Even though the manager in Sydney would usually take my call it took lots of discussion, phone calls and emails to get any progress. I have lots more specific detail available but wanted to be brief!!I would not recommend SmartHeat hydronics knowledge or products based on my experience.Their solar tubes for domestic hot water are working well for us. Not sure about efficiency of their SH500 heat exchange tank with stainless steel coils ( vs copper) but our solar domestic water heating is working well.
