New Chef perhaps but it’s not worth what they are charging. Mushroom breakfast was tasteless, boring and insufficient for the price charged. I actually asked the nice man if there were more mushrooms coming, alas no. That was it. If not for the wonderful coffee and juice, I would have walked out. Incredibly noisy when busy so don’t go there for a relaxing brunch. Sometimes change is not good! Let’s hope for another change for the better. I’ll try again in 6 months.

There's clearly been a management change of some description. Wait staff are overall very friendly but seemingly a little disorganised or under some sort of duress from the kitchen. Seated and drinks ordered, 10mins later drinks arrive but told it's too busy to order food for another 5 minutes? Not sure what difference it will make if there's a ticket there sooner or later but ok. Order 15 mins later and get our food about 30 mins after that (2 pretty basic dishes off the menu). Both dishes arrive overcooked to the point of being just below burnt. Dishes that were dependable and familiar for so long have clearly been amended and not for the better. The fried chicken burger that was once a staple is now dry and tasteless with very little going for it. Fried bordering on blackened is the unexaggerated truth.Overall it's not that it's a bad place but it seems obvious that the kitchen need to pull their heads in a bit. I'd be happy go there for a coffee. Hopefully they get back to basics soon and sort it out. Maybe I just got them on a bad day?

Had lunch at the Spring Gully general store and the food was lovely, however, the customer service is very hit and miss. Went for a coffee yesterday and the service was atrocious. The man with the beard was rude and it was as if he were doing me a favour. Couldn’t even break a smile. I got better service buying coffee at the servo this morning. Won’t be going back

Gorgeous cafe, lovely courtyard out the back. The staff were really friendly. Coffee and food was great - we had the lemon poppyseed pancakes and the red velvet waffle

Spring Gully General Store
Having not seen each other in some time, a group of us caught up for a meal at the Spring Gully General Store. We had booked a table for Brunch and we were seated promptly. Coffee orders were taken as we waited for one of our party to arrive. We told our original server this, as we wanted to order our meals at the same time and together. There is a fine line between good service and over enthusiastic service; we were asked if we were ready to order several times by several different servers in a very short space of time, even though we were still waiting on a friend to attend. This got a bit embarrassing and we were starting to feel pressured to order. All of us finally together, we ordered, meals were ok coffee good, but my Eggs benedict with smoke salmon was cold. The venue was great, atmosphere was good, dining available inside and out. Overall we did feel pressured to order when we weren’t ready, which really took the shine off our experience.

I ordered a hot chocolate and a ham and cheese toasty was charged $19.50 the hot chocolate was very nice but the ham and cheese toasty when I opened it had tomato and relish not what I ordered I went back and the bloke at the counter said we do things a bit different here. He did say he would rectify it when I received the new toasty it was like pulled pork and cheese not my thing so I was disappointed others may enjoy it. My advice is if you see someone who is not a regular maybe explain to them how you do things and by the way I can get a ham and cheese toasty and a large hot chocolate in Melbourne which tastes great for $11

Worst place in Bendigo, terrible service, they forget without customers they have no business. How does someone know what cakes to order from a takeaway window outside??? Whatever happened to good old customer service and friendliness. Plus how do you charge higher rate because it’s a long weekend?? The public holiday is on Monday not Sunday?? Hope the staff get extra money all weekend. Makes no sense. Will never go there again or their other store the corner store and will be telling everyone. With money so tight you would think they would have higher standards of service. And that’s you the man with the beard twice you have been arrogant and rude hiding behind your coffee machine.

Amazing breakfast to kickstart our day! Always an amazing meal from the team here. Coffee is always spectacular too. Friendly staff with quick attentive service! Highly Recommend to anyone looking for a great place for breakfast or lunch in Bendigo

Was so excited to splurge and try some of the locally famous food and beverage served here. Apparently open to 3pm, was told at 2.25pm that only serving coffee. So I suppose the consumer law relates to the fact that I should have accepted the falsity and simply bought the coffee (the highest profit margin item). To top off, I was spoken rudely and no negotiable option made available. That's hospitality. My beautiful folk, if ever in the Bendi and simply go on south another 140km, just settle with the coffee club. Trust me, attitude comes through food, remember what 'grandma used to say'. Ciao!
