Sing Space with Germaine McCarthy

I have taken lessons with Germaine for 6 years. She is wonderful. Firstly, she knows what she is doing. I was diagnosed with nodules on my throat and she knew how to gently navigate them while still improving my singing. I was later found to be all clear of nodules and I credit Germaine with that. Secondly, my singing has improved beyond belief. I had some really bad habits and terrible pitching but now I'm sounding good. One of the reasons I began lessons was because I'm an actor and wanted to learn to sing to broaden my employability and working with Germaine has done that. She is super friendly, qualified, intelligent, talented, encouraging, caring, authentic, reliable, professional, kind and passionate.

I never thought I could be a singer. But I'm starting to change my perception! Every student at Sing Space feels cherished and cared for. The teachers all have a combination of diligence and outright talent. This means that they meets every student 'where they are at'. Sing Space has helped me claim my power as a singer.

Students aren’t just $$$ signs. There's no need to be rude or disrespectful Germaine.After being a loyal student of hers for 9 years, always paying on time, (almost $20,000 all up), hardly ever needing to cancel, buying her birthday gifts, etc (including a necklace worth $225 on my final lesson) was told recently when I wished her a good festive season and a Happy New Year that:...I don't feel it's necessary for us to be in further contact"She never reciprocated to say likewise etc or ask me how I've been over the last three years

I have been receiving lesson at Sing Space with Germaine now for 4 years and I could not be happier. I came to Germaine with an idea about how to improve my voice and I never imagined how quickly this could happen. Since then Germaine has taken my singing training leaps and bounds and I my voice has improved and expanded more than I could dream! I have been receiving one on one vocal lessons from Germaine at Sing Space for over 2 years. The location is super handy - right next to Camberwell train station/tram stops - but below ground so that there is no noise to interrupt lessons. The studio is warm, comfortable, inviting and I love coming here.What really sets Sing Space apart from other vocal lessons I have had is not only the Speech Level Singing technique (which has increased and developed my vocal ability greatly) but the support and encouragement that I receive from Germaine, she is such a fantastic and knowledgeable vocal coach!If you are looking at singing lessons for yourself (or your littlies as they also have kids lessons) I would totally recommend Sing Space.

Germaine McCarthy is a true professional. Due to a health condition, I lost the ability to speak for around 2 years. Germaine guided my recovery with a combination of speech therapy and singing technique so that now I can speak again. I've regained my previous career as a podcast presenter. I am so grateful for the persistence and skills of everyone at Sing Space.
