No Customer Service at all! This review is about a very poor experience at Coles Supermarket in Helensvale, but it could easily apply to all Coles and Woolworths supermarkets in many other areas. Both these chains are trying to wean customers off using cash registers which are manned by staff. They do this by not having any registers open other than at the self service section. These providers of food supplies are some of the few businesses which have thrived during the covid pandemic, raking in record profits at a time when many have failed. But despite record profits they continue to seek even greater wealth at their customers expense by providing little or no customer service at all.Customers serve themselves, then pack and pay for their goods with minimal or no staff assistance. It's not the fault of the staff, it's corporate greed driving this phenomenon. This is bad enough in itself, but when their mechanism for self service is less than satisfactory then customers should be outraged. The self service cash registers need major improvements so that they are less sensitive and much easier to use. There must be less stop and start faults because some tired shopper has failed through an insignificant touch or the incorrect placement of their bag!!!!What is the point of providing self service checkouts when they are so sensitive that we are constantly waiting for the lone staff member to assist by resetting the calibrations. We should all be extremely concerned and more active in making our demands for better service heard.Let's try to limit our support of these greedy corporate beremoths.Supermarkets which I have found to offer better service have been at Runaway Bay, Burleigh Heads and Robina Shopping centres. And remember that Aldi stores still offer manned cash registers.

Energy drinks and cold drink fridge is NEVER stocked. I walk in frequently to grab something and it’s never there. They can hire 2 people to stand on self checkout all day but no one to stock the fridges? I’ve gone in about 8-9 times now and walked out disappointed.

Thursday 23 March 2023, 18:30hrs. Nasty, overzealous staff member Maxine on self serve checkouts obviously profiled us and questioned our transaction from the shopping bag we scanned to the heavy item in our trolley we keyed in manually. Hovered over us the entire time. We are a comfortably wealthy couple in our forties, and present as tidy individuals. Thoroughly embarrassed. Will not return, will discourage others from doing so.

It's an average coles in a centre that could really do with being knocked down and rebuilt. Terrible car-park.

Generally a pretty good experience, but there is a real problem with their 'fresh' chicken products, particularly chicken necks, which I buy for my dogs.Often, they're 'off' at least two days prior to the listed expiry date. I've had to take them back a number of times. (Keep your receipts, kiddies)Other than that, staff are always friendly, and it's convenient.

Used to be BILO, this Coles still feels a older as if it were out of the late 90s to early 2000s, still has a good selection of items indifferent to other Coles supermarkets though

Good range of stock. Very convenient undercover parking. Helpful staff. Ideal situation in smaller mall-style centre. You don't get trampled underfoot by the tyre-kicking browsers.
