Katja is a excellent trainer who takes the time to train the owner as well as the dog. She has helped me train my husky to be off leash and improve the obedience of all my dogs. I highly recommend her training services.

We met Kat when our rescue BorderCollie Cross was eight months old. Willow was a typical full of beans energetic dog that meant ball chasing and demand barking were life. After endless attempts to fix the issues ourselves we were lost and found ourselves looking into trainers. We thank our lucky stars that we found Canines by Katja. Kat has been a life saver! Not only did she help up through our ball issues, improving our recall 10 fold but she has supported us in making Willow a well behaved companion and sports dog. She has helped us through numerous issues, not only behavioural but also assisting with our training in the sports of agility, tricks and obedience.Kat was available not only throughout our session but also via SMS and call whenever we needed. I was particularly greatful for Kat’s assistance when Willow was attacked by another dog. After a quick message to Kat, I received a phone call, we talked through the incident and how to initially manage contact with dogs to ensure Willow (and myself ) could feel confident in public. Furthermore Kat helped to test her and make sure she wasn’t fearful in any situations, as well as advice on how to manage the situation should it ever occur again. Kat is a kind hearted, generous, reliable and authentic person who really cares for the creatures she works with.Willow is now three and we continue to call and have sessions with Kat whenever we have any issues or behavioural quirks and she always has a suggestion to help. We are moving and don’t know what we are going to do without Kat! We wish she could come with us!!I would hands down recommend Canines by Katja for anyone needing help with their canine companion of any age!!!

She is patient, practical and went the extra mile to understand our dog and also our own needs. Katja literally saved us! We were at a point where we couldn’t go on a walk with our dog on the lead without him reacting to another dog. We found Katja , went back to basics and I can’t believe how much we have learnt, how far our dog Flip has come and how much she has been able to help us understand things from flip side.Finding Kat was a blessing for us and we are so thankful. She is the most knowledgeable person I know and really takes the time to understand each issue, get down to the root cause and coach both myself and our dog Flip.We are now way more comfortable going on walks and know how to manage leash aggression. flip can also walk past another dog without reacting.Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Kat!!! Kat goes above any other trainer. She is wonderful at really working on your dog’s behaviour so both you and your dog have life long positive experiences. She breaks the training down so you can understand it and really spends the time with you to get it right.We first came across Kat with our 1 year old Jack Russell (Coogee), who decided she enjoyed eating carpet. Kat helped us nip that in the butt in no time.Now we have a 7 month old border collie (Mia), who we did group classes with Kat and really built good foundations in socialising with other dogs and people, positive play and overall training. We have also done private sessions to help with some anxiety Mia is experiencing and I have complete faith in Kat and her abilities.She helps you understand your dog and their needs and in doing so creates a relationship where you can trust your dogs and you love having them around.She does not apply a one size fits all approach, she really spends the time to consider what you and your dog need and personalises each session so you really get the most out of it. She is worth every cent. I would not hesitate to recommend Kat. We are so happy that we stumbled across her!

Katja has been around my puppy Willow from 8 weeks of age, she stopped by for the very first initial training session on the first day I brought her home. She has helped me built a confident happy puppy. I felt a little overwhelmed when I first got my girl and Kat helped me feel like I had some idea what I was doing with her. I think I’d be lost if I didn’t have Kat’s guidance. We often refer to her as being a dog wizard since she is just so knowledgeable about what to do for all situations. I so confidently recommend Katja to everyone I know with dogs. It is clear she cares about the the dogs she meets and will go above and beyond to ensure the best care is given to each individual case. She knows dogs limits and never pushes them past anything they can’t handle. My girl is 4 months old now and I don’t think I would ever want to stop taking her to see Kat. We never make any decisions for our girl without consulting her first and completely trust her with my dog.If you are thinking about seeing a trainer at all go see Katja!! It’s is 100% worth it!

Endorse and concur with all the compliments by other reviewers. Katja trained us to better understand our very cheeky and exuberant 6 month old border collie. She gave us the tools to help manage his behaviour better - and it worked after just a single lesson - walking him has become a pleasure and his recall and visitor greeting has improved significantly. After seeing what her gentle and positive approach can achieve we highly recommend her to anyone who wants to get more out of their relationship with their pet mutt.

Ok what can I say, Katja is a dog whisperer.My ol blue is 11, and I have had him since he was a pup (whole dog) - has had behaviour issues pretty much his whole life. He has stayed with Katjas Canines twice now for several weeks at a time - she is worth every penny.In the past I have been guarded and kept him away from people, as I didn't really know what to do.Boy have I learned a lot - I had no idea.She took me through the steps for training and yes even with an old dog. - step by step and working in small advancements ( mainly for me).She had him off the lead within the first couple of days - which I' m still astounded about. He just follows her around the block and now me (yard). I now have the tools to recognise his triggers. I wish I knew about her when I first got him, I would have taken him straight to her.I will continue to work with Katjas Canines and use the tools she has taught me.Take your dog to her you wont regret it.

Kat has been amazing with our fur baby Poseidon. We wanted to improve on his recall and confidence, so We bought a package deal and she came to our house, came on walks and really helped us. Her knowledge and patience is incredible and we cannot thank her enough. We shall keep in touch whenever we need. Thank you again!

Katja has made us understand our Staffi so much more, she has done an amazing job with us and the dog. Her dedication and love for puppy's is incredible. She very professional and her knowledge is fantastic, you wont find a better dog trainer! I highly recommend her ! 5 Stars from us
