We are two families with two children each (7-8 yrs old) that share a holiday place together in Echuca. We’ve tried almost every pub and restaurant and The Star lives up to its name. Beautiful classic interior, warm and inviting. The staff are so welcoming and very kind to our kids. Other hotels have made us feel very unwelcome with children. Food is the best in Echuca, absolutely love this place and so glad we’ve found The Star as our go to for fresh, well prepared food and lovely hospitality every time.

3 of us went to dinner here and ended up sharing a few starters. These were the antipasto, saganaki, and meatballs. They were all excellent. We also shared a main, which was the warm calamari salad. This too was excellent. The staff were very friendly and polite. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend. 10/10.

Located in the centre of the town, great old vibe with a lot of character. Fireplace was going, wasn't too busy & the staff were super friendly. Perfect place in winter.

Ordered the Pizza lunch @ $22 pp including a drink. Ended up paying $69 for two. Not sure what happened but not impressed. On the ups the pizza was fantastic

The veggie pizza was one of the best! Very tasty and perfectly cooked (not over done black & dark brown on the base like lay many are). Delicious and nice red and a bubbly wines and a good coffee to finish. Friendly staff as a bonus too.Thanks Ream!

Can’t say I was too impressed with this place. Chips was a bit starchy, pizza wasn’t very flavorsome, poke belly sandwich was okay. Food took a little bit of time to come out (most likely because it was Easter weekend and maybe they were a bit short staffed. It’s pretty typical pub food nothing too special.

I overheard the table next to us raving about the pizza so we thought we better order one, they were not wrong. We shared a delicious pizza and salad. I was not disappointed at all.The only negative was the service- just mediocre. Nice location and great vibes when setting out on the veranda.

Terrible staff members, so freaking rude. no respect for the customer who are putting money into the business. these country town people need to learn some respect, they think they are above everyone else. young guy was the one who ruined the party. bad hairline and terrible attitude. will not recommend ever!!!!

Lunch on Sunday 28th May. Pub has ambiance but no atmosphere. Tables sticky, need heavy duty cleaning. Bar staff friendly but when making menu enquiries to another floor staff member re rocket salad, was condecendingly advised calamari was listed with rocket salad. I politely asked if there was any other salad options for the chicken parmi as it was also only served with rocket and there was no other side salad options on the menu. We compromised that the rocket could be substituted with cos lettuce. I ordered the Gamberi prawn pizza. It was fairly tasteless, thin crust in the middle but outside crusts crisp on the outside but very doughy on the inside. Ordered the pizza after reading rave reviews online stating best pizza ever but definitely not in my opinion and I have sampled pizzas worldwide. Fellow diner's parmi was fine, few chips only and cos lettuce was wilted. Pepper sauce on the side was served in very small ramekin and not worth the extra charge. Meals and drinks are expensive especially for a regional pub, $21.50 for a scooner of beer and regular sized house wine. With the cost of living so high it is no wonder people are avoiding eating out at these overpriced venues when there is no value for money. It's a no brainer that pubs must start to encourage diners back by offering tasty meals and drinks at a more affordable price. Newsflash, not everyone loves rocket so at least offer a tasty salad alternative. Not that hard. Very disappointing dining experience.
