The Offroad Tradies

I am a beginner 4WDer who has just enjoyed the Offroad Tradies Vic High Country Tour. I am rarely motivated to leave a review, but I had such a great time on this tour, I thought I would put finger to keyboard….Part of the reason I selected the Offroad Tradies is because they supply three yummy meals a day, reducing the gear I needed to take and my pre-trip organizing. The unexpected bonus was that whilst Luke and Curl were preparing our meal nearby (or on) the fire the rest of us could relax, share stories of the day’s adventures, our 4WD set-ups, tips, tricks, and other holiday ideas.The High Country itinerary was very thoughtfully designed, starting with easy days, and progressively becoming more challenging as the newbies amongst our group learned from Luke n Curl, culminating in us conquering some of the high country’s iconic challenges. I really enjoyed them and learned a lot.Luke n Curl are clearly great mates, relaxed, inclusive, friendly, and professional. They have a natural empathy for the people (and 4WDs) in their care. They catered for dietary needs with ease, and went out of their way to meet other requirements of the group.Speaking of our group….I had some trepidation prior to the start of the trip…..being with strangers could be a little intense, I thought. But, of course, we all had a common interest to help break the ice. Our group was a great mix of couples and singles, all with stories and laughs to share. Post trip we are sharing pics and clips of our time together, and contact details for future adventures.Speaking of which, my wife and I are in the process of booking the Offroad Tradies Simpson Desert trip for later this year….Thanks for a great trip guys, we are looking forward to the next one.

The High Country tour I just did with these guys was outstanding. They obviously well planned it as the pacing and building of difficulty with the tracks each day was perfect. This was my first catered tour and although I'm normally the bush cook in our trips it was surprisingly nice and relaxing to casually set up camp each night and wander over with the whats for tea" question and not worry about anything. The high Country was amazing on its own and should be on everyones bucket list. Doing it with the Off Road Tradies just made it super easy. Thanks Luke and Curl! Oh and thanks everyone else on the trip what a great bunch of people!!"

Just completed the Cape York Trip with the Offroad Tradies, 2nd trip after the Vic High Country and was not disappointed, to the degree, I will be joining them 2 weeks after for the 3rd trip with them, The Simpson Desert Trip.All I can say is that they take their positions seriously to ensure safety but not so that it is detrimental to the whole enjoyment of the trip. Taking into account peoples Experience, Knowledge and general capabilities, the 2 (Luke & Curls) turn it on for you. If by some reason the expected roads or tracks cannot be made (Normally weather related) Then they have backup plans that are discussed with the whole trip team, then put to action.These guys are just a genuine couple of blokes that love to travel and be there in the outback or wherever, discovering and sharing their love of the country.Do yourself a favour, at least once and see what they have to offer, ya wont be dissapointed.

Just finished the Victorian High Country tour and cannot recommend it enough.Luke and Curley made the tour feel more like a group of mates travelling than a tour.Great bunch of blokes with lots of knowledge and provided an exceptional 6 days even with inclement weather conditions.From mechanical issues to recovery the boys were always there with a plan to keep things moving. Even land cruisers need a little help sometimes (that snatch will go down in the history books right Luke?)All in all a great tour, excellent countryside and a very friendly atmosphere with new friendships made along the way.I look forward to seeing you on the next tour.

We've just arrived home from a tour of the Flinders Ranges with the Offroad Tradies, our second tour with them. We had a wonderful time and I would recommend it to anyone who loves 4 wheel driving and outback adventure. With three meals a day provided and all the planning and logistics taken care of, it was a great way to experience the Flinders Ranges. We stayed at some remote campsites where the stars were a sight to behold. The facilities at each campsite were good with several providing showers in addition to toilets. There were many great views of the mountain ranges and some sensational sunsets were served up (along with nibbles courtesy of Luke). The 4 wheel driving was challenging but fun. Luke was there to guide us through the toughest parts. I enjoyed the thrill and the rewarding views. Another highlight was the underground mine tour of the old copper mine in Blinman. It was very interesting and provided a good insight into the Cornish mining practices and their way of life.The Offroad tradies are a professsional and friendly company that offer unique and memorable experiences that are a good balance of 4 wheel driving, exploring and relaxing.

SIMPSON DESERT TOUR: Their published daily itinerary is a useful reference guide. However, we very quickly became aware that the published itinerary is only one of the possible options for that day. On occasion, this was due to changing circumstances or road conditions/closures etc, which of course is perfectly understandable. However, the tradies also made changes to both routes & destinations from time to time, as they saw fit. In our experience, these changes to the itinerary were always motivated by Luke & Curl's desire to deliver the best possible experience for their guests.We felt safe at all times. All experiences were managed with sensitivity to risk and ensuring that a good time was had by all guests.Luke & Curl are both likeable blokes, easy to be around and easy to get along with. They frequently sought the opinions of guests and always endeavoured to deliver on any special requests, whether that be food or itinerary related.Memorable highlights in the catering department included the serving of hot pies while we visited a lookout on day 1. Then later in the tour, the serving of a spectacular camp oven prepared roast pork meal. At one point, we were surprised to be served impressive hors d'oeuvres prior to dinner. A delicious sunset BBQ on the iconic Big Red was another catering highlight.All in all, the OffRoad Tradies delivered a very special and memorable Simpson Desert experience for us, one that we will treasure for years to come.

WOW. What an experience The Offroad Tradies gave us over 6 days.With us having a basic knowledge of off roading, the crew at The Offroad Tradies helped us grow in confidence as they took us from a gentle hut tour on the first day, small climbs on the 2nd day to some of the best known spectacular 4x4 tracks in Victoria over the next 3 days, if not Australia. Fantastic food prepared fresh every day. Campfires at night and lots of laughs as they made our entire group feel at ease and welcome. Very highly recommend going on any of The Offroad Tradies expeditions. Keep up the great work.

Our family of four (2 kids - 4yo & 6yo) took part in the Vic/SA Border Track Adventure Tour on the June long weekend.The kids loved every moment of the tour. It is great not having to worry about cooking. Basically set up camp and relax. We got to meet other like minded people on the tour that we now class as friends! This track is a fun experience and one that everyone should tick off their 4x4 bucket list. We are not experienced 4X4 drivers and found that Luke & Curl were very encouraging and walked us through anything we were unsure about.We highly recommend booking a tour with The Offroad Tradies!!In fact we are looking to book the Desert to Dunes Tour next.

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to attend the Desert to Dunes trip along the SA Border Track. On this trip we experienced sites from the Australian outback to the beautiful beaches in South Australia. Luke and Curl were both fantastic with the knowledge they provided along the trip, as well as providing us with delicious food and many laughs. Could not speak higher of this business and I will definitely be recommending it to many people.

100% recommend these Tradies.Having just recently finished the Victorian High Country tour with the Offroad Tradies I cannot sing their praises high enough!Had the most amazing 4wdriving and camping adventure made perfect by their attentiveness to everyone's needs including dietary needs when it came to preparing gourmet meals for us.Many laughs and great story telling was had around the nightly campfires along with some very funny radio banter.Luke and Curl, thanks so much for creating a memorable trip for us and will definitely be seeing you guys again on another tour.Cheers Anna & David R
