Discovery Parks - Coolwaters, Yeppoon

We had planned to stay in Coolwaters Discovery Park yesterday for 1 night but unfortunately our trip got delayed so we could not stay. I rang them up to cancel and despite being apologetic and giving them nearly 2 days notice. We were told our deposit booking would be taken off us and we would have to pay the full deposit fee of 87 aud. Not only that the receptionist was rude on the phone and did not have a nice way of speaking to me when i explained our situation. I have stayed in other Discovery parks in Rowes Bay and Airlie Beach and can only speak high of other ones, but would not recommend this Discovery Park!

Fantastic park, great for the family. So much to do, kids are busy all day in the water slide and in the large beach entry style pool or on the jumping pillow. The Causeway Lake is a great spot for a fish and the camp kitchens and toilet/shower facilities are great. Return Camper.

Park is clean, well equiped and quit save for the sounds of kookaburras and other native wild life and the sounds of kids having fun.The pool and splash park are awesome the weather was great.The washing machine in the ensuite was a great addition that made it alot easier.Ensuite was clean and had enough space and the layout was great and it was well maintained with no signs of neglect.Only 2 small issues we had was the draft seal on the bottom of the door jammed our son in the ensuite and I had to remove it to get him out as the door skin was starting to come away from the door.Other issue is the water point for our site was on the opposite side to normal so our hose did not reach.But these issues aside we had a great time and have added the park to our list of parks we wish to return to in the future.

Great spot near the causeway. Like the activities available for all age groups. What a great idea to gather food trucks out the front. Clean and tidy facilities. Hope to come back.

We only used a powered site. There are no instructions on where to plug in. Maintenance around the park seemed to be a bit lacking. Most annoying was the boating, and jetski made it impossible to fish or safely access the water. There is no enforcement of the water rules at the private ramp. Use and your own risk.

A nice place to stay a night. The pool was good, the open unpowered site area was good (except for the insane mosquitoes as soon as the sun started to set and all the next morning until 7.30am!), the service at reception was good too. A group of kids played basketball till 8pm which was very noisy and disappointing but overall a quiet place on a Sunday night out of peak periods. I'd stay again if I have mesh walls for the gazebo!

Kat was very helpful at check in,staff and amenities very nice,look forward to our holiday here
