Nice place to come and walk, water down a bit, but it's slowly filling up again. Not sure if any fish here or good fishing. I'll have to come down & try one day.

A small reservoir steeped in a fascinating history for the growth of the surrounding areas. A beautiful little place for a picnic or a spot of fishing.

It looks a little unloved at present, however Coliban Water will be commencing a major upgrade of facilities in August 2020, including access to the boat ramp (boats with electric motors only).

Have been here now 5 times trying for a brown trout as I've caught plenty of rainbow trout at Crusoe Reservoir behind Kangaroo Flat Bendigo. This afternoon (4th Aug 2019) I got a decent bite fishing from the shore and hooked what I believe was a brown. I'd been there around 2 hours the same as on previous visits with never as much as a nibble and had used both lures and live bait (worms and live yabbies), I then decided to try Powerbait which is what has done the trick at Crusoe. So having cast the line with a limo green powerbait, it had only hit the water for about 1/2 a minute and the rod really bent so reeling it in just before the shoreline it spat the hook. Well at least it has now given me incentive to go back and keep trying as I was about to write the place off. Especially because the effort to get down the rock wall and even along the shoreline is pretty treacherous. The small stones along the shoreline is like standing on ballbearings and I came a cropper this arvo. So beware and tread carefully. Otherwise it's a very nice place with good parking, clean toilets and a 25 minute drive from Bendigo. Will keep trying for that brown.

Popped past during an event in Harcourt and a fabulous little spot. Plenty of parking, seating adn lawn areas in and out of the shade, accessable picnic table and while there was a couple fishing, I'm not sure if they were having any luck.
