It's a nice and relaxing place depending on time of year, as it is a water storage and is used for irrigation so water levels do vary depending on the seasons

Not a lot to do and not very easy to reach from each side. Nice open water though and the places that are reachable are fairly clean and quiet.

Great ramp but lacking anywhere to Moore your boat or ski while moving car especially if your on your own very rocky around ramp as well but otherwise great. Toilets could be closer though. Its a car trip to get to them.

I went fishing out in the middle of the lake on a boat however about 1 hour into the fishing a big wave appeared out of no where and struck our boat we didn't think much of it until a big dark shape appeared under the water and then it disappeared after that we didn't catch anymore fish. one month later we went fishing again we saw a dark shape but this time above the water 50 yards from our boat it looked like the hull of an up turned boat it only stayed there for 4 minutes before it vanished.warangal basin however is a good place to catch Redfin.

Waranga basin ( reservoir) only 25 mins drive from the town of Rushworth. Waranga dam is the catchment for the Waranga goulburn irrigation system. Excellent for boating and fishing for Redfin, cod and yellowbelly. Camping available. Great for a hot day. The shallow are perfect for children to play in. Can get abit of wind up though at different times of year. Still a picturesque

Awesome fishing, boating & general water fun place. Camping is only legal at the caravan park but well worth it.
