Winton Wetlands

Did a tour and staff from the wetlands explained the history and future plans for this amaziing place. We enjoyed interesting walks and an abundance of wildlife. Lots of history here

The sunsets are magnificent and the sun rises even more so. However if you’re scared of frogs, cicadas, grass hoppers, dragon flies, snakes, spiders or ants, this might be a difficult place to camp as they are everywhere in quite large numbers. It was incredibly loud (from all the animals) so might be difficult for people who get overwhelmed by loud sounds.The camp site (nesting grounds) had huge campsites and the toilets were really clean.The observation deck (near the cafe) was easily accessible and was a great spot to watch the stars however beware of the hordes of mosquitoes!The walking trails are beautiful and quite easy to do.Would definitely recommend!

The painting on the water tank were spectacular and a fitting tribute to the brave fire-fighters.

Large area, no water but birdlife still around. Love the painted water tank & dead trees.

Great formed and well signed cycling/ walking tracks. Neat little cafe to rest and refresh with great food and coffee. Just don’t come here expecting to see wetlands because there is no water.

Could not go road I wanted too wet. Local farmer told me where to go. Ran into him Saturday morning when I had coffee. Told him was going today. He was a great help.

Beautiful place nice environment..

This is a place you must visit. The scenery magnificent so serene loved it

..Just beautiful..I have seen so much wildlife here, great place to get away from town and learn abit of history on the way.

Cool place. Inspiring shapes and spooky shadows of the old dead trees. Appears to be very well maintained with practical, subtle and some not so subtle infrastructure. All well meaning for local and foreign travellers. Currently drought conditions, however, still green spots and birds. Worthwhile having binoculars, bikes and walking shoes.
