Great location. Lots of hard worn land and some fairly rowdy campers. The mosquitos at sunset were unbearable. The toilet blocks on the NW bank were locked too. Won't be returning

Spacious camping both sides of the river. Elevated views on the north side, or river-level on the south. Toilets on both sides. Peaceful and relaxing. 48 hours only.

The view is beautiful. Unfortunately, the shire has closed the toilets on this side of the river. Someone has tried to put small crosses on the road sign. Alright, for an overnight, if you have ensuite in a caravan.

This is a lovely one or two (max) night stopover. We stopped on the higher northern which overlooks the lower side. The northern side is preferred if there's a chance of rain and it is grassier and less dusty. The toilet block was closed but there is a temporary one in it's place.

Great free camp, plenty of spots for swimming and fishing. Good toilet amenities. Only downfall was a little overgrown have been there before though and grass was better maintained then. Def worth a visit

Great place to free camp have to be fully contained. There is a south side to that has working toilets. Great place to fish and meet new friends. Nice and quiet away from the highway. Shop at the historical village opened from 9 - 3 from memory. You can walk from Northside to south over bridge. One man showed me where he was stung by jellyfish there. Said they come in on the tides.

One of the best ever free camps.Oh - and I lost my Covid mullet due to a travelling hairdresser. But honestly a free camp with toilets be the river only a few km from town.On Sunday some local kids driven by mum drove around selling bags of firewood (I have an electric chainsaw) but we purchased two bags - support the community but best ever Wood for $10 a large bag.Free camping both sides of the river. Maybe 120 vans here- 60 each side of river but heaps of space so no one is close.Just a fantastic camp!

Off grid free camp off the Old Bruce highway. We stayed a couple of nights on the south side of the river. Popular place with vans of all kinds. There are toilets there. There are signs to be wary of crocs but we didn't see any and saw a few people fishing in the river...

As with most free camp sites there always seems to be a few idiots who spoil it for the majority ... although mostly on weekends. Was also a bit disappointed the toilet block on the north side near historical village was closed (hopefully for repair). But in general the fellow campers were quiet, friendly and considerate. Certainly worth a look.
