I had a great experience with Tom. With my multi-textured hair, I have had past issues at other salons where they had no concept of how to shape the hair and would practically leave it all one length. I would leave the salon looking as if I didn’t even get my hair cut which was really disappointing. Tom was the the first hairdresser I met who really understood how to shape my hair properly to work with its natural texture. His consultation process is thorough and he aims to understand and adapt his process to your own hair goals. I knew exactly what hairstyle I wanted and Tom was the first person to finally bring it to life. When getting a quality haircut started to feel hopeless, Tom provided me with a comforting experience and a new hairstyle that significantly increased my confidence. He is honest, highly skilled, and very detail-oriented with his work. I highly recommend his service. Thanks again!

Tom has cut my hair 3 times now and I couldn’t be happier with the result. It is cut so well that it is very easy to maintain and looks its best. The whole experience is calm and relaxing without the incessant noise of a normal salon.

As a person who has struggled with thin hair for ever and is usually disappointed after getting a new cut, I am beyond happy with my hair after seeing Tom.Tom is not the same as other cookie cutter hairdressers who replicate the same haircut on everyone. He is visibly passionate about hair which makes the experience truly comforting, informative and just special.Great haircut, great atmosphere, great conversation, amazing experience overall, can't wait for my next appointment. Going to Tom gave me a no BS approach to my daily and weekly hair routine! He strips everything right back and makes your hair it’s most brilliant with haircut alone! Best massage I’ve ever had when taken to the bowl after trimming and shaping to better frame my face. I also loves that he steers clear of the ‘triangle’ look that can so often come with a cut and have given me something super manageable and, dare I say it, low maintenance! He was also able to give me some great pointers on what might serve my hair better without EVER pushing any products - which was so refreshing!!! All in all, loved Tom and his approach! That was the most straight forward consult, cut and explanation I’ve received so I now have tangible things to move forward with outside the salon!

Tom is a master at his craft. The whole experience at his salon is next-level customer service. I have fine, curly hair and have been searching for a hairdresser who understands texture and shape for so long, now I've found him! I've been to self-proclaimed curly hair specialists but always felt they used questionable techniques that did nothing for my hair. Tom is a class above, taking the time to really listen and understand your hair needs and allay any worries from previous experiences. I now have a beautifully shaped, low-maintenance (somehow thicker-looking!) haircut. I can't recommend Tom Zappala Haircutting highly enough, a wonderful experience.

Absolute perfection! I had my first visit with Tom and let’s just say, no one will ever cut my hair again.. ! He was an absolute delight, not only is he the nicest man but the attention to detail on the cut was second to none. I have never had someone pay so much attention to my hair and I left his studio feeling so confident with my natural hair. Would give more stars if possible! Love love love!

Truly one of my favourite self care treatments. My fabulous new cut is just want I needed to freshen up my look after a year on maternity leave. Thank you so much Tom for looking after me and hearing what I was looking for. I absolutely love my shape and length! The waiting room and studio are such beautiful spaces and really give such a luxurious and relaxing vibe. I genuinely zenned out! And my curls feel like they have more bounce and life, it's amazing! After listening to my requirements, I left his beautiful and relaxing space with a fabulous haircut that I can easily manage with my requirements for low maintenance. I’ve had 5 haircuts with Tom over the past 5 years so this review is long overdue. Before I used to just trim my own hair for about 10 years due to bad experiences with traditional hairdressers (wet cuts, razoring, painful, etc) and one never again “curly cut”. I now enjoy getting an actual shape that compliments my fine, thin hair and works for my needs. Tom is simply a godsend. He genuinely listens to you and builds a collaborative relationship that dissipates any fear or anxiety related to getting your haircut if you’ve experienced that before. Tom allows me to maintain my hair on my terms at home and that means he really does cut for functionally and longevity. The cuts grow out so well, I do space my appointments quite long as it is a luxury for me but a well worth luxury. I get so many compliments on my hair - from my loved ones to complete strangers.I recommend Tom to anyone with curly or wavy hair who just wants their hair to shine on its own, no special products, methods or gimmicks required! And as a bonus, Tom is lovely and engaging in conversation and goes above and beyond in making your appointment an amazing experience.
