Nice, friendly staff. Many sculpture artifacts to view. Good rest place before moving on to Tennant Creek if you are going in the direction of Alice Springs. You can get a booklet of information on Central Australia for free, which is pretty helpful if you have no idea what else to do except visit King's Canyon and Ayers Rock.

Nice place with some interesting history! Friendly staff with a lot of information to share. The walk around the centre has many displays and buildings for you to see what went on back in the day. Highly recommended however take something to deter the flys when outside hehe!

The mine tour is awesome. We were told of hot food available at the RSL on Saturday night when they hold markets. Well done to the cooks who had delicious food for sale.

I entered with high expectations. Visiting several information centres around the country they impress with great eagerness their local knowledge but my proverbial rug was pulled from under me quite rapidly by the monotone couldn't care less reception at the Tennant Creek V.I.C.. He pulled two pamphlets from under the bench and said tha's about it. He really seemed to be put out by our arrival and the interruption of his personal google time. My partner tried to buy some books from the gift shop" but struggled to get him to serve her. Finally she distracted him from his erstwhile research with mono-syllablic answers to her enquiries. We went to the Telegraph Station after our visit to the V.I.C. and were informed we could get the key from the visitor centre to look through it. This was never mentioned by the centre nor anything about other attractions around the town. I can only assume there are none. This is really poor Tennant Creek."

So much to see at Battery Hill. The underground mine tour was fantastic and so were the museums. Lots of history in one and an amazing rocks and minerals display.

A great information centre. We went here right away when we arrived in Tennant Creek and were provided very informative information with maps to go along with it for what to do in the area. There are a couple of museums here as well as a old mine tour which you can visit for a fee. You can see some old machinery on the outside also.“Jonique Life”Follow our journey around Australia on Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube as we highlight wonderful experiences and magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.

Great place with lots of interesting information about the mining history of Tennant Creek. The staff were helpful and polite and there was useful information available. Bonus that spinifex pigeons were running around outside. So cute!

Good local info, in particular about the Binns track. The bloke was responsive to my questions and interests. The town seems to be suffering from a lack of volunteers so be nice to the people who are trying.

This is the site of the old Battery Hill gold mine. There is an interesting display of old mining equipment and the site gives a beautiful view of Tennant Creek.
