We came here on the recommendations from reviews read. There was a claim for best coffee in Victoria! A big claim that was sadly not a reality. The steak sandwich with the lot was an honest sandwich that did the job for hungry travellers. Staff were friendly and service was quick.

Pizzas are excellent, good amount of topping just what you expect to see. Serving sandwich, cakes, drinks, coffee, tea many other things. Good amount of tables to dine there with friends.

This place is impressive. All prepared on the premises by the owner. Staffed today (16th Jan 21) by a couple of fun, sassy, ladies who know their way around a kitchen. I ordered up big on gluten free items because I'm not good on the gluten. They had a whole separate display cabinet for GF. 1st I had the Pepper steak pie. The pastry was wonderful and the filling had been made with love, flavour and time+++. I think it was the best pie I have ever had. I also demolished an orange and almond cake and a lemon curd tart. The tart was particularly good. They even had lactose free milk for my latte. There is a spacious dining area as well that I wasn't expecting. I was surprised to see lots of other GF items on the menu. There were plenty of tables out the front and an unusual $1 Covid cleaning charge to sit down. I see some diners have whined about that but the signs are clear and it is only a dollar. It costs money to wait tables and a user pay system for people to clean up after you isn't unfair. This is not your average bakery in a far flung rural farming community.

The big breakfasts were enormous but very simple. No fancy focaccia bread or crispy hand-made hash brown, just simple buttered toast and cooked-from-frozen hash browns. The bacon could have been cooked for longer, but the mushrooms were fantastic. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the eating area was very clean and neat. If you're looking for a simple breakfast meal to keep you going well into the afternoon, this is the place!

In Avoca today we called in for a quick meal at the Home Made Café in the main street. It was lunchtime and the place was jumping. We found the service excellent and the staff friendly and welcoming. All the meals we ordered were just excellent and we would return. Well done to the team!!!
