Such a great Jujitsu gym. Paulo and the team are excellent with the kids. My son has been training at Roots for over a year now and he has learnt so much respect and discipline. Roots is like one big family and it means so much for us to be apart of it.

Super flexible with teaching kids. Pay a weekly fee and turn up as many times as you want. The staff are friendly and fair with the kids in teaching them new skills.

I have been training with renowned Black Belt Prof Paulo Guimaraes of Roots Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Warringah Mall for 8 years and my son has been training for 3 years. It has become our home away from home and family. Roots Warringah Mall is an incredible place to learn self defence and martial arts from the best whilst getting extremely fit and healthy in a well balanced combination of traditional Self defence and fighting techniques and warrior approach with modern day training and conditioning. We look forward to continuing our martial arts journeys with Roots Warringah Mall for many more years to come.

My son Noah is 6 and has been going for about 3 months.He loves it and is now going 4 times a week. I can't recommend it enough. Instructors are brilliant and all kids are welcoming to new kids.

I had trained with Head Instructor Paulo Guimaraes from 2018 to 2022. Paulo is a great instructor with a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge to share with his students. When you think you’ve learnt enough BJJ, Paulo shows you that there’s a lot more left to learn and experience in BJJ.Paulo is tough and firm with his students but he is the right amount of it to forge you into a physically and mentally strong BJJ practitioner. It’s as they say, ‘iron sharpens iron’, ‘tough times create tougher people’. You don’t join Roots BJJ to just learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, you join to become the best version of yourself in and out of the mats. You’ll meet friendly like-minded people from all walks of life that share your passion in the sport, and best of all you’ll enjoy learning how best to strangle and joint-lock them!Although I no longer train at Roots BJJ anymore due to moving houses and job commitments. I would definitely jump at the opportunity to learn from Paulo Guimaraes again and train with each of the Roots BJJ family members I’ve made along my journey.Do yourself a favor, try a few Roots BJJ classes, you’ll thank yourself later for ‘doing’ instead of just ‘thinking’ about it!

Teaching and training at Roots Bjj Warringahmall inside Westfield Brookvale is a blessing. It’s so convenient and comfortable with covered car park for free (3hrs) and shops right there with a huge range of services, it is just so easy. With the highest ranked black belt in Australia we are super lucky to learn real jiu-jítsu from Paulo Guimarães, 6th degree black belt in jiu-jítsu, a real legend in the sport.
