Very dodgy and not enough educational books. Staff are horrible and it’s waaay too loud. I tried working here as I needed some time to work at a place like a library but all it ended up being was a hole mess. When we drove past here last night we found a body on the ground. Before hand we saw her walking away. Clearly needs security outside until all staff leave the building. Can’t find a good car park for this place either, place is poorly lit and very out of date. Basically this place is a MESS.

Along with the Rosny library, probably the best in the state. The renovations have been well worth it. Excellent area for kids to read and relax, plus a few board games towards the front.

free wifi. very nice clean new library with a large selection. just on the first floor alone there’s charging stations, study rooms, a large children’s area with a small reading room and another play room, they obviously have lots of books but also CDs and DVDs available for rent. nice staff

Free wifi, really friendly and helpful staff! There are lots of empty spaces where you can sit down and do some reading or use your laptop, with a charging port available. There's a toilet available on the ground floor and second floor.Love the kids section too ☺️

The Burnie Library is a great place to come and use one of their computers or attend one of interesting courses or just get a nice coffee from their coffee machine and relax a while. If you need any help with anything, the staff are lovely and always willing to help in any way that they can and they make the library an awesome and relaxing place to be.

I love the library here. It is a beautiful building with amazing architecture, look up when inside. There are lots of nooks and crannies for you to work in, read in or connect your own device to the internet. Fantastic kids area. Two community kitchens also for heating lunch, making a cuppa etc. Amazing service to the community and great friendly and helpful staff, nothing is ever a bother to them. Best place to spend a rainy day.

Used to be good but not so much any more. All the good educational books have been requested out to other libraries where they stay until someone requests them back so slowly most of the books worth reading have been replaced by art, religion, self-help medical books, and other low-intelligent topics. Sure we can all request books from other libraries but you're no longer able to just walk in and browse for something worth reading. Most of the old helpful staff have been replaced by staff who project an attitude of distrust and suspicion of everyone. This is probably due to the short period where the library became just an online access centre full of noisy kids playing computer games. The second level used to be good for quiet study but now has elderly people learning computers which, as good as it is that they're trying to further their skills, tends to be painful background noise for people who know computers. Sue who used to work in the reference library was very helpful but most of the time now it's unstaffed. It just doesn't feel like a library anymore - it's just a free online access centre with immitation book decorations. If you want decent books or a place to study I recommend getting a public access card to the UTAS library. They might not have as many books but quality trumps quantity. Even travelling to the Wynyard library is worth it for a quiet place to study.

Since renovating there are less books. New technology rarely works properly. Not the same old library and that's not a good thing
