Princes Hill IGA

The staff are dishonest, rude and amoral. I had been coming to this store every week for almost 2 years. On Sunday I paid for my items and as I was leaving a staff member ran after me and I couldn't understand what he was saying to me. I followed him back and he was gesturing to the Eftpos machine from which I gathered the payment hadn't been processed.Given how frequently I go to the store I trusted this staff member that the payment hadn't gone through so I tapped my card again. When I got home I checked my bank accounts to see that they had charged me twice. I called the store and they assured me over the phone that they would refund me. When I went back in, they refused to pay me what was owed and instead began arguing about what had happened and were gaslighting me. After much stressful arguing they said that the money would be refunded into my account the next day - which never occurred. I will be reporting this store to my bank, Consumer Affairs Victoria, and IGA Headquarters.

Cozy local supermarket you don't get lost in walking up and down lots o aisles..Has everything you want so support them.

a convenience store to the extent that exploiting high profit margins (nearly $10 for a packet of chips?) is, indeed, very convenient

I only ever go here in rare emergencies due to their limited range and extreme markups on most products, so it's concerning that I've now managed to come home twice with seriously expired products because I didn't think to check the dates. Don't assume they are selling edible food! I'd personally rather walk an extra few minutes to the other IGA on Brunswick Road now

Good selection for a small shop, staff keep it clean and are friendly. Bit of produce and meat of decent quality. Prices are a bit high compared to coles/Woolworth's 10 min away, but for the convenience it's decent. I'll stop for two or three things if I'm busy and short on time, wouldn't do a full week's shop here though.

Terrible staff. Dismissive, rude and rolling their eyes at each other in disdain.

The shop was closed before the promoted closing time which is 11PM. Staff inside gestured there was still time remaining but couldn’t be let in.
