Wineglass Bay Lookout
Such a beautiful lookout and great walk. Few steps but still pretty easy. Worth it for the view. Pretty quite on a weekday in May

There’s a large car park and not many pay stations for your ticket. There are a lot stairs towards the top. It took us around 40minutes return. There’s a toilet and a tap where you can fill your bottle up.

Beautiful spot,, wasn't there on a sunny day unfortunately, reccomend going down to the beach and the long way back to the carpark via isthmus track(not sure on spelling) as there was so lovely secluded bays and swim spots ,eg the orange rocks and blue water was along the tracks

Wineglass Bay Lookout is a popular hiking destination located in Freycinet National Park in Tasmania, Australia. The lookout offers stunning views of Wineglass Bay, which is known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, and rugged pink granite mountains. The hike to the Wineglass Bay Lookout is approximately 1.5 kilometers each way and takes around 45 minutes to an hour to complete. The trail is well-marked and moderately challenging, with some uphill sections and stairs. The lookout itself offers panoramic views of the bay and the surrounding mountains, and is a popular spot for photography and relaxation. Visitors can also continue on to the beach itself via a steep descent, where they can swim, sunbathe, and explore the area.Freycinet National Park is known for its stunning natural beauty and is a popular destination for hiking, camping, and outdoor activities. In addition to the Wineglass Bay Lookout, the park also features a range of other hiking trails, scenic drives, and wildlife viewing opportunities.

Took just under an hour for a return trip. But was quite a quick pace. Normally around 1-1.5 hours. Great views but during winter try get there earlier for a bit more sunlight ☀️

Beautiful walk on a great track, quite steep in parts but definitely worth the effort, the walk down to the bay itself is quite tricky, but we were there after some rain, good footwear essential if it's been a little wet. Would highly recommend as a half day walk.

Worth the climb. Great views along the bay. Lots of parking but make sure you visit the visitor centre before hand to buy your pass into a National Park. Had a good gift shop and toilets before heading down to the car park and climbing up. There are also toilets at the car park which were clean and had toilet paper.

Weather permitting this walk would look different each time. Steep incline up loads of steps you will need to have a moderate fitness level. We managed to get up and back with many stops along the way in just under 1 hour. The set up of the viewing platform was great and little rest stops along the way.

We were returning to experience the lookout after 20+ years. My word the track has improved - a credit to the authorities. Obviously there are still a lot of steps but its been carefully graded & drainage installed.Viewpoints & occasional rest stops improved too. Took us oldies 30 minutes to the top, and the top viewing area is very much improved with a short loop walk & extra viewing areasComing down the new one way system is a good idea as removes congestion. A very good walk taking us about 1.75 hours as we hung around up the top for ages.
