Metropolis Bookshop

I keep going back to Metropolis. I like the look, feel and overall quality of the bookshop. The staff is always extremely helpful and friendly.It is not necessarily the best bookstore to buy popular fiction but a gem of a bookstore for all of us that love books.

Love this bookstore, always go here when I'm in Melbourne.

Thanks to Sally for helping facilitate a last minute gift with her thoughtful and swift service. Not only was it a book we were struggling to find, she managed to get it promptly shipped to Sydney, making heroes of us all.

My favorite bookshop of all, discovered when I lived in Melb through a international student's booklet introducing Curtin House.My favorite spot for paper-book,Well, for arch, Glenn, Doshi (I stumbled across and knew it was right for meh cuz humanity), Zaha, Architecture: Form, Space& Order. CAD magazine 2013, then Noguchi(the woman introduced it to me cuz I only saw Nog's work on Pinterest), The secret of colours ( pretty light& interesting to read), and Studio Ghilbli' s The wind rises.My roomie bought The poetic of space.I wanna buy Lee Krasner and Cinematography.. and Idk what i will discover? one day if i ever visit to this bookshop again.ps. There's a Chinese bookshop nearby in CBD which I discover lots of literature works, mainly Yi Shu.

My friend put me onto this place - pretty cool imo. I like the books and posters and stuff - I have picked up a few. Man this place is just awesome

Tucked away up the stairs of this grand old Melbourne building is a fabulous book store. The range caters for specialised topics including photography, design, art and music amongst others. It is a great place to browse and be surprised by texts and topics that are hard to find in other locations. The staff are always friendly and helpful providing suggestions that always seem to be on the mark. There online service is efficient also but I prefer to shop in store ... something soothing about being in their environment.

I first had to come in here to pick up some texts that were assigned reading for my course. They staff were helpful, the space is lovely to be in, and the selection is very broad and deep. If you're even remotely interested in art, architecture , or design theory there are so many books here and so much to look at that you'll never be short of something to read. Since then I've come back every now and then to pick something up, and if ever I couldn't find something in stock the staff were happy to order it in.

It's a pretty niche bookstore but it pretty much hits my areas of interest and obsession. Lovely staff, too.

I cannot begin to tell you all how much I love Metropolis bookshop. The owner is super lovely and the staff is always friendly. Metropolis is not your typical bookshop. They have a lot of unique art, fashion, arcitecture and design books, books imported from Japan and more alternative books. Come here if you're looking for something unique!

Sally, the wonderful lady that I spoke with, went above and beyond to chase down a book for me and make my experience easy and enjoyable!
