King of Cakes

New owners have revived this place with their choice of staff. Staff are much more friendly, helpful and efficient now and I have now returned to visiting when I can. Well done team! On a side note, the place could do with a little refurb. Nothing too major, but some of the furniture and fittings are looking a little tired and worn out. This doesn’t effect the quality of food and enjoyment though! Just a little feedback for the owners :)

Good food and good people. Staff are always friendly and the food is....well if my waistline allowed it would be cake, Danish and brezel (pretzel..... but one you have to see to believe) everyday of the week.

I ordered a cake for them for like $70 and it literally looked so botched and ugly, had no frosting and I could have easily made it for much cheaper. I would highly recommend not giving this business your money, not to mention the horrendous customer service. Should be called peasant of cakes instead.

Placed an order for my daughters gatsby themed 21st cake from overseas. King of cakes made the 3 layered cake exactly to the picture and it was delicious. Communication and cost good too.Thanks King of cakes for making my daughters 21st cake perfect. 5 star review.

We ordered my son’s first birthday cake here and it was absolutely delicious. We ordered the large celebration mud cake. The photo we submitted came out beautifully on the cake. All our guests enjoyed the cake and said it reminded them of the nostalgic mud cake from their childhood days. The whole process of ordering online was smooth. I will definitely be coming back to try the other flavours.

I have NEVER been more dissapointed! Ordered over $300.00 worth of food for a birthday get together with family. It said authentic German... We were so looking forward to it all. Brezel is no comparison to an authentic one. The dough is not only incorrect but tasted sweet like a cake-bread. The consistency stale which ends up sitting in your stomach like a hard ball. The large brezel not even baked inside, raw hard dough and seeing its made with yeast, a real health concern. The pastry of the sausage rolls,/ pies is nothing like it should be and the taste of the meat over floured(?), definitely not Gulash as advertised. The bread rolls had a nice filling, chicken, ham, beef, but no one asked for hot sauce on any of them. The rolls themselves, old and stale, not an authentic German roll at all. The beesting, dry and stale and the vanilla cream nothing authentic about it. Not sweet enough, not enough if it. More like a sponge cake with some mixture slabbed in between. No love involved there. We all tried it and ended up throwing it in the bin!! Not edible. This store must have new owners and bought the rights to the owners name I would suggest. Definitely not good advertisement for the previous German owner. I am German, worked in a bakery and made Brezel, german cakes and bread / bread rolls, etc. If this bakery was in Germany it wouldn't last one day. Never again! Do yourself a favour, spend your money elsewhere.

Bought a Salted Caramel Buttercake, the cake itself was stale and not nice at all. For the price, I get better freshness from a Coles/Woolies cake. Disappointing for the King of Cakes!

Almond croissants was a bit dry. Goulash pie was nice, but mostly potato and gravy. My daughter liked sausage rollI feel like fruit pastries might have been a better choice

Review changed because the sourdough we used to buy is not produced anymore. Last time I was disappointed because even so I called for hand, ordered and I drove a long distance, only to hear we are not selling it any more. At the phone I was told yes we keep to bread for you.Excellent, traditional bakery with high and consistent standards. The sourdough bread reflects this quality and emphasis on healthy alternatives. The cafe has nice coffee and a great selection of pastries and pies to choose from. The atmosphere is friendly and the service prompt. A great place to relax and connect with friends. The quality of the cappuccino varies

Came here to try their pretzels as I’m just a huge fan of soft salted pretzels. Didn’t quite live up to expectations as the pretzel didn’t taste that fresh but I did come in the late afternoon. Still great to know that this bakery exists close by.
