Southpaws Moorabbin

Southpaws took amazing care of my Teddie who was attacked by our neighbours dog late one night. He had emergency surgery at 1am and stayed 3 nights at Moorabbin, but today he's gotten his all of his stitches out and has made an amazing recovery! I live rurally so it was very stressful having to make the late night drive in the rain to get him help, and being away from him for 3 days was also horrible but the staff at Southpaws were so kind and gave me updates everyday on his recovery. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Thank you!

The staff are lovely and clearly care deeply about the animals they treat. My cat is currently undergoing lymphoma treatment with Southpaws. She has shown obvious distress when attending vet clinics in the past, but when i pick her up from southpaws she seems calm. It's a testament to the care the team provide. The treatment is expensive - but cancer treatment is expensive no matter where one goes and as they say, you get what you pay for. I cannot recommend Southpaws highly enough. Special thanks to Dr's Irina Gramer and Pascal Urlings who do a great job and providing medical care and also supporting owners through a difficult time. My appreciation for this team is endless.

We cannot thank Southpaws enough for the incredible work they have done to save our boy Freddies life. Our cat Freddie was hit by a car, and was experiencing life threatening injuries when he arrived at Southpaws. The Vets and Nurses at Southpaws were AMAZING. They offered both empathy and care, as well as outlining the medical reality of Freddies condition. There was no stone left unturned. They provided constant updates over the phone, as well as sending us photos of Freddie over his 6 day stay. We were so grateful for this. They kept such a close eye on him, and ensured every test was done to closely monitor his condition and to make sure they were treating him correctly. Freddie is now safely at home, which is more than we could ever wish for. Thank you, thank you, thank you Southpaws!!!!

Wat an amazing team at South Paws. All such experts in their field, we are so lucky to have such high level expert care to look after our pets.We were referred to South Paws for specialised surgery and treatment post accident. Dr Euan explained everything, the options, the risks, the benefits and kept us informed throughout the entire time our little puppy was in his/the teams care. His bedside manner was fantastic, very explanatory, no question was too much. He even facilitated a visit before the surgery was performed. Surgery went to plan, thanks to the expertise by the team lead by Dr Cathryn and Dr Euan. The nurses, the staff on front desk you were all truly amazing.To all the staff at South Paws we are forever grateful that you have been able to put our boy back together!

Words to sum up Southpaws - Quality, Integrity, Care & Kindness.Our boy Teddy was involved in a horrific accident where he was hit by a truck. Southpaws not only saved Ted's life multiple times, with life saving surgeries and intensive critical care, but also treated him like their own whilst in their care. As a family we were able to entrust the experienced Team at Southpaws with our baby and always felt he was in the best possible hands. Ted's medical journey has been a long, tough one but the team have been with us every step of the way, advocating for Ted in all the ways we could hope for. We owe everything to Southpaws and couldn't ever say thank you enough for what they have done for Teddy. An absolutely incredible team, would not hesitate to recommend their services to animals in need.

When our 10 yo mini-dachshund lost the use of his left front and rear legs another emergency vet examined him and said to wait and see if he improved."We called Southpaws the next day and he was booked for CAT scan the following morning. We saw Dr Jeff Buckland who examined him and explained the possible condition and outcomes carefully and clearly.The scan confirmed he had IVDD and was operated on by Dr Jeff the same day.He has made a speedy recovery and we are very happy with Dr Jeff and the friendly and helpful staff who kept us up to date with his condition at all times."

To the team at Southpaws, and Dr Lorna, thank you so much for the compassionate care we received when we had to put our cat, Luna, down. It was a difficult day, and Dr Lorna was absolutely fantastic, explaining everything clearly, giving us space to be with her, and being so caring and gentle.The facilities were clean, reception staff were great (+ the lovely sleeping dog behind the counter). We would highly recommend this facility to anyone. They even sent a follow up card with Luna's pawprints, overall going absolutely over and beyond for us.Thanks again for everything.

Very professional with updates and adequate vets and staff for 24 hour animal care, which is something you need when yoir pet is very sick. Maybe too many tests on my puppy in a short time. They are on the ball with diagnoses and advice on solutions but I felt too rushed having to make decisions in a split second. I am now questioning if my sick puppy could have handled all that medication and constant probing in her sick state. Sadly she couldn't and succumbed.

Immediate service was superb and staff are exceptionally caring and patient. Unlike normal vets, they are specialists who really know what is going on in which you feel safe that your pet is in good hands. You have to be referred to this hospital however it is open for emergencies 247.
